- The New Jersey Devils have fired head coach John Hynes and have named Alain Nasreddine as the interim head coach.
Carolina Hurricanes v. Boston Bruins – 7p EST Start Time
In Boston the Bruins and Carolina Hurricanes would play 55 minutes of scoreless hockey until Charlie Coyle would break through to get the Bruins on the board. Then David Krejci would score his sixth of the season to secure the Bruins the 2-0 victory.
New York Islanders v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p EST Start Time
Celebrating their 110th birthday, the Montreal Canadiens would defeat the New York Islanders. In the first period Phillip Danault would score his seventh of the season to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Brendan Gallagher would net his 11th of the season for the 2-0 lead. In the third period the Islanders would get goals from Scott Mayfield and Mathew Barzal, but Jeff Petry and Shea Weber would both score to give the Canadiens the 4-2 victory.
Minnesota Wild v. Florida Panthers – 7p EST Start Time
The Minnesota Wild would visit the Florida Panthers, and in the first period Aleksander Barkov (PPG) and Jonathan Huberdeau would both score for the Panthers to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Jason Zucker and Mats Zuccarello would tie the game for the Wild. And in the third period Carson Soucy and Luke Kunin would secure the Wild the 4-2 victory.
Vegas Golden Knights v. New Jersey Devils – 7p EST Start Time
Scott recaps the New Jersey Devils first game since firing John Hynes as they fall to Vegas Golden Knights 4-3.
Toronto Maple Leafs v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p EST Start Time
In Philadelphia the Flyers would run wild on the Toronto Maple Leafs. After a scoreless first period the Flyers would strike first as Scott Laughton would net his third of the season. Then in the third period Travis Dermott would tie the game at one, but the Flyers would explode for five goals as Claude Giroux, Travis Konecny, Joel Farabee, Shayne Gostisbehere, and James van Riemsdyk would all score to give the Flyers the 6-1 victory.
Arizona Coyotes v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p EST Start Time
In Columbus the Arizona Coyotes would strike first with a Clayton Keller powerplay tally. Then in the second period Dean Kukan would strike for the Blue Jackets while on the powerplay, however, Christian Fischer and Lawson Crouse would score to take the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period Alexandre Texier would get the Jackets back on the board, but Carl Soderberg would score to give the Coyotes the 4-2 victory.
Tampa Bay Lightning v. Nashville Predators – 8p EST Start Time
In Nashville the Predators and the Tampa Bay Lightning would faceoff in a tightly contested matchup. In the first period Victor Hedman would get Tampa on the board first. Then in the second period Ondrej Palat would score for the Lightning, but Calle Jarnkrok would Nashville on the board. Then in the third period Kyle Turris would strike on the powerplay to tie the game at two and send the game to overtime. In the extra frame it would be Nikita Kucherov would strike to give the Lightning to score to take the 3-2 victory.
Dallas Stars v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p EST Start Time
In Winnipeg the Jets would break out their heritage jerseys as they hoasted the Dallas Stars. In the first period Nikolaj Ehlers would net his 13th of the season to give the Jets the 1-0 lead. Then in the second period Miro Heiskanen would score for Dallas, but Kyle Connor, Josh Morrissey, and Patrik Laine would all score to give the Jets a 4-1 lead. In the third period Mark Scheifele would score to secure the 5-1 victory.
Ottawa Senators v. Vancouver Canucks – 10p EST Start Time
In Vancouver the Canucks would run wild on the Ottawa Senators. In the first period Antoine Roussel, Tanner Pearson, Elias Pettersson, and Zack MacEwen would all score for the Canucks to take a commanding 4-0 lead. However, in the second period the Senators would finally strike as Jean-Gabriel Pageau would net his 15th of the season to cut their deficit to three. ten in the third period Tyler Ennis would score for the Senators, but Oscar Fantenberg would net his first as a Canuck to secure the 5-2 victory for the Canucks.
Washington Capitals v. San Jose Sharks – 1030p EST Start Time
In San Jose the Washington Capitals would kick start their California road trip against the Sharks. In the first period Melker Karlsson would strike to get the Sharks on the board first, but Garnet Hathaway, Jakub Vrana, and John Carlson would strike for the Capitals to take the 3-1 lead. Then in the second period Garnet Hathaway and Jakub Vrana would both net their second of the game to grow the Capitals lead to four. In the third period Evander Kane would score for the Sharks, however, it would not be enough as the Capitals held on to win 5-2.
