News:

  • The Montreal Canadiens announced that defenseman Victor Mete will be out two weeks with an ankle injury.

 

  • The Vancouver Canucks have granted goaltender Jacob Markstrom a leave of abscence to attend his father’s funeral.

 

  • The Washington Capitals have traded Chandler Stephenson to the Vegas Golden Knights for a 2021 Fifth Round Draft Pick.

Scott recaps the New Jersey Devils blowout loss to the Buffalo Sabres.

 

Vegas Golden Knights v. New York Rangers – 7p EST Start Time

In New York the Vegas Golden Knights would face the Rangers, and in the first period Alex Tuch would net two early goals (EVS and PPG) to give the Knights the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Reilly Smith and Max Pacioretty (PPG) would score to give the Knights a 4-0 lead, but Brendan Lemieux would strike to cut the Knights lead to three. However, the Knights would hold on as both teams played a scoreless third to give Vegas the 4-1 victory.

 

New York Islanders v. Detroit Red Wings – 730p EST Start Time

In Detroit the Red Wings would play host to the New York Islanders, and the Islanders would strike first with goals from Anders Lee, and Anthony Beauvillier to take the 2-0 lead in the first period. Then in the second period Dylan Larkin would strike for the Wings to cut their deficit to one, but Jordan Eberle would score on the powerplay to retake the two goal lead for the Islanders. Then in the third period Eberle would strike again to secure the 4-1 victory.

 

St. Louis Blues v. Chicago Blackhawks – 830p EST Start Time

In Chicago the Blackhawks looked to black out the St. Louis Blues, but it would be the Blues blanking the Blackhawks 4-0.  In the first period MacKenzie MacEachern and Jaden Schwartz (PPG) would both score to give the Blues the 2-0 lead, then after a scoreless second period Brayden Schenn and Tyler Bozak would seal the deal for the Blues for the 4-0 victory.

 

Los Angeles Kings v. Anaheim Ducks – 10p EST Start Time

In Anaheim the Ducks would play host to their neighbor Los Angeles Kings. In the first period the Ducks would get on the board first with goals from Derek Grant and Jakob Silfverberg (PPG) to take the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period Kurtis MacDermid would get the Kings on the board to cut their deficit to one, but the Ducks would retake the two goal lead as Carter Rowney would net his fifth of the season. However, Nikolai Prokhorkin would net his fourth of the season to get the Kings back within one heading into the second intermission. However, in the third period, Derek Grant would score his second of the game for teh Ducks to secure the 4-2 victory.
