Game Recap:
Tonight the New Jersey Devils come back home briefly to host the Boston Bruins. Unfortunately for the Devils they ran into arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference and were ultimately outmatched. Boston would strike twice within 14 seconds in the first period as they got goals from Matt Grzelcyk and David Pastrnak. New Jersey was unable to score and would fall behind 2-0 going into the second period.
New Jersey would get their only goal of the game in the second period as Blake Coleman would get his fifth goal on the season at the 18:11 mark. However, Coleman’s goal wouldn’t matter as the Bruins went onto score 3 more times. Bruins goals came from David Pastrnak and (league leading 19th, Matt Grzelcyz each with their second of the game, and native New Jerseyan Connor Clifton. Boston took this game by a final score of 5-1.
