News:

  • The Nashville Predators announced that they have signed forward Austin Watson to a three year extension worth $4.5 million.

 

Game Recaps:

Calgary Flames v. Nashville Predators – 8p EST Start Time

In Nashville the Predators would face the Calgary Flames and in the first period it would see the Predators out shoot the Flames 15 to 4, but the Predators would take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission with goals from Nick Bonino and Austin Watson. the Flames lone goal would be from Derek Ryan. Then in the second period the Predators would strike again, but this time while shorthanded as Calle Jarnkrok would score to regain the two goal lead for the Predators. Before the end of the second period Jarnkrok would strike again while shorthanded to take the 4-1 lead into the second intermission. Then in the third period Austin Watson would score his second of the game, but it would be all Flames as they would get goals from Rasmus Andersson, Elias Lindholm, Alan Quine, and Matthew Tkachuk to force overtime. Then in overtime Tkachuk would score his second of the game to complete the comeback victory for the Flames as they would win 6-5.

 

Montreal Canadiens v. Vegas Golden Knights – 10p EST Start Time

In Vegas the Montreal Canadiens look to slow down the Golden Knights, but despite an early Phillip Danault tally, it would be the Knights taking the lead into the first intermission with goals from William Karlsson and Alex Tuch. Then in the second period the Canadiens would tie the game with a Jonathan Drouin tally, but in the third period both Cody Glass and Mark Stone would score to give the Knights the lead again. Tomas Tatar would score for the Canadiens, then Brendan Gallagher woud score to tie the game at four and to send the game to overtime. Then in overtime Max Domi would score 26 seconds into overtime to take the 5-4 victory for the Canadiens.
