Today in the NWHL we had three big signings for the 2019-20 Season.
First we have the Boston Pride signing forward Alyssa Wohlfeiler to a one year contract.
Wohlfeiher, who played for the Connecticut Whale during the inaugural NWHL season, was EC Bergkamener Bären’s (Frauen-Bundesliga in Germany) leading goal scorer last season where she scored 29 goals and recorded a total of 55 points in 27 games.
Then the Buffalo Beauts would announce that they have signed University of Toronto captain Becki Bowering to a one year contract.
Bowering, 23, will be playing in her first season in the NWHL and with the Buffalo Beauts.
Then the Minnesota Whitecaps announced that they have signed forward Meghan Lorence.
Lorence, who went to Whitecaps games when she was younger, played for the University of Minnesota winning three NCAA National Championships in four seasons. Lorence also recorded 102 points (50-52-102) in 158 games with the golden Gophers. This will be Lorence’s first season with both the Whitecaps and NWHL.
No player slaries were disclosed in today’s announcements.
All players will partake in the 50 percent cut of revenue from league sponsorship and media deals. Plus they will also receive 15 percent of revenue from apparel sold with their name on it.
TXHT will continue to provide NWHL coverage as more signings are announced.
