Today is Saturday, November 3rd, 2018 and these are your news and notes.
There were three contests in the NHL.
The first contest of the day was the conclusion of the NHL Global Series in Finland between the Winnipeg Jets and the Florida Panthers. Florida went on to win the contest 4-2.
Mike Hoffman of the Panthers scored one of three unanswered goals when Florida was down 2-1 to Winnipeg.
Panthers G Roberto Luongo made 32 saves in his return to the lineup to earn his first win on the season and the 472nd of his career. He is 12 games away from tying Ed Belfour for third place all time on the regular season wins list.
Hoffman extended his point streak to nine games, a career-high.
-The Vancouver Canucks defeated the Colorado Avalanche 7-6 in overtime.
Elias Pettersson had a great game scoring two goals and had three assists for a five point game.
