There were three contests in the NHL yesterday
- The Florida Panthers took on the Washington Capitals and won 6-5 in a shoot-out. Florida led after the end of the first period 4-1, which resulted in the Washington Capitals replacing Braden Holtby in net with Pheonix Copley.Jonathan Huberdeau and Vincent Trochek registered three points each in the contest.
This contest featured the 12th game of the season in which there were 10 combined goals for the season, the highest through the first 100 games on the season since the 1995-96 season (17).
