Montreal Canadiens: 1-0-1 for three points
Los Angeles Kings: 1-1-1 for three points
The Montreal Canadiens are coming off a dominating 5-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Saturday night. In the first two games for the Habs they have looked very good all over the ice. Tonight the Habs will have their home opener along with honoring the 1993 Stanley Cup team.
The Habs will stick with the same lines as they had for the previous two games:
Tomas Tatar-Danault- Brendan Gallagher
Jonathan Drouin-Jesperi Kotkaniemi- Joel Armia
Paul Byron- Max Domi- Artturi Lehkonen
Charles Hudon-Matthew Peca-Andrew Shaw
Victor Mete-Jeff Petry
Mike Reilly- Noah Juulsen
Xavier Ouellet-Jordie Benn
Carey Price will get the start between the pipes
Healthy Scratches- Tomas Plekanec and Karl Alzner
If the Habs are able to come out and play the way they have in the past two games they should have no problem against a Kings teams who is without their number goalie in Jonathan Quick. All eyes once again will be on the young center Jesperi Kotkaniemi who comes into the game with one assists on the season. The Habs will be looking to get Jonathan Drouin going as he has struggled in his first two games.
On the Blueline the Habs have looked decent without their number one D-man in Shea Weber. Mike Reilly is starting to show his worth in Montreal after being aquired last season from the Minnesota Wild. Victor Mete has looked decent while playing first pairing mintues and should continue to be a force for the Habs on the point.
The big question coming into the season was the health of Carey Price and if he would return to his old veznia self which has in the first two games stopping 44-48 shots. The Habs don’t have any back-back games this month so expect to see a lot of Price in the first month of the season.
