With this announcement, it was announced that the Carolina Hurricanes will wear Hartford Whalers throwbacks on December 23rd against the Boston Bruins and March 5th when the Hurricanes visit the Bruins. These jerseys are identical to what was worn during the 1985-89 and 1990-91 seasons. The jerseys feature white and blue striping across the waist and the same colour striping angled at the arms. The iconic Whalers logo is the centerpiece of the jersey.

A good day to look back at the NHL uniform history of the Hartford Whalers, who tweaked striping, removed an adorable shoulder patch, and modernized before relocating to North Carolina in 1997

The jerseys are not available for purchase yet but they will be in time for the game on December 23. Needless to say, this is very good news for the Carolina Hurricanes to honour the Whalers with these jerseys.
