  • The Edmonton Oilers announced that forward Leon Draisaitl will miss the remainder of the regular season.
    • Draisaitl has a lower body injury and will be re-evaluated in the coming days.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Toronto Sceptres v. Boston Fleet – 7p ET (PWHL)

  • In Boston, the Fleet would host the Toronto Sceptres for some PWHL action, and after a scoreless first and second periods, Daryl Watts would score the game winner and Blayre Turnbull would score the empty netter to give the Sceptres the 2-0 victory over the Fleet. Raygan Kirk would stop all 26 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Sceptres.

New York Islanders v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto, the Maple Leafs would don their St. Pats jerseys for St. Patrick’s Day against the New York Islanders, and in the first period, Brayden Schenn and Calum Ritchie would both score on the powerplay to give the Islanders the 2-0 lead. Then in the second period, Steven Lorentz would score for the Leafs, but Emil Heineman’s 19th of the season would give the Islanders the 3-1 victory over the Maple Leafs.

Boston Bruins v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal for an Original Six matchup, the Boston Bruins would visit the Canadiens, and in the first period, Pavel Zacha would open the scoring for the Bruins with a powerplay goal, but Nick Suzuki would score to tie the game at one for the Canadiens. In the second period, Zacha would score his second of the game while Josh Anderson would score for the Canadiens to tie the game at two. Then after a scoreless third period, Cole Caufield would score to give the Canadiens the 3-2 overtime victory over the Bruins.

Carolina Hurricanes v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET

  • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets would play host to the Carolina Hurricanes for a Metropolitan Division matchup, and in the first period, Mason Marchment and Charlie Coyle would both score on the powerplay to give the Jackets the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Andrei Svechnikov would score for the Hurricanes, but goals from Danton Heinen and Denton Mateychuk would give the Jackets the 4-1 lead. Then in the third period, Mathieu Olivier would score to give the Blue Jackets the 5-1 victory over the Hurricanes.

Minnesota Wild v. Chicago Blackhawks – 730p ET

  • In Chicago, Nick Foligno would return as a member of the Minnesota Wild to take on the Blackhawks, and in the first period, Ryan Hartman and Marcus Johansson would score to give the Wild the 2-0 lead, but Louis Crevier would score to get the Blackhawks on the board and back within one. However, Vladimir Tarasenko would score on the powerplay to give the Wild the 2 goal lead back. In the second period, Ryan Greene would score to get the Blackhawks back within one. Then in the third period, Frank Nazar would score to tie the game at 3 as the Blackhawks would force overtime. In the extra frame, Mats Zuccarello would score to give the Wild the 4-3 overtime victory over the Blackhawks.

Nashville Predators v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET

  • In Winnipeg, the Nashville Predators would visit the Jets, and in the first period, Erik Haula would score on the powerplay for the Predators while Josh Morrissey would score for the Jets for the 1-1 tie. In the second period, Gabriel Vilardi would score on the powerplay for the Jets while Filip Forsberg would score for the Predators for the 2-2 tie. Then in the third period, both teams would trade goals again as Matthew Wood would score for the Predators and Jonathan Toews would score for the Jets for this game to go to overtime tied at three. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey, it would be Ryan O’Reilly with the shootout winner as the Predators would defeat the Jets 4-3.
