News
- The NHL announced the Three Stars of the Week. The First Star went to New York Rangers F Alexis Lafrenière who had five goals and two assists, which would be highlighted with game winning goals in two contests, all in four games played
- The Second Star was awarded to Dallas Stars G Jake Oettinger. Oettinger had a perfect week, going 3-0-0 with a GAA of 1.65 and a .940 save percentage.
- Rounding out the Three Stars is St. Louis Blues F Jimmy Snuggerud. Snuggerud recorded three goals and three assists in the four games he played. Snuggerud recorded his first three-point game of his NHL career albeit in a 4-3 loss to the NY Islanders on March 10.
- The PWHL announced that Megan Keller has been named the Player of the Week.
- Keller had one goal and two assists in three games played last week in addition to an average of over 28 minutes played across those three contests.
- Additionally in the PWHL, the Boston Fleet traded Theresa Schafzahl to the Seattle Torrent for Jessie Eldridge, ahead of the PWHL Trade Deadline on March 30.
- Schafzahl has two goals and four assists while Eldridge has seven goals and six assists on the season.
- Their contracts expire at the end of the season.
- The NHL announced that the World Cup of Hockey will be taking place in February 2028, in place of the All-Star Game. The tournament will feature eight nations across two continents.
- Preliminary round match-ups will take place in:
- Calgary, Alberta, Canada at the brand new Scotia Place, scheduled to open in time for the 2027-28 season, as well as Prague, Czechia, with six round-robin games and one elimination game
- Edmonton, Alberta, Canada at Rogers Place with the semifinals and championship game
- Participating nations and rosters, as well as broadcast information for the tournament will be announced at a later date.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps
Calgary Flames v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET
- In Detroit, the Red Wings welcomed the Flames back to Hockeytown and in the first Calgary took the 1-0 lead when Morgan Frost scored his 15th of the year. In the second, Detroit tied the game with Patrick Kane’s 11th of the year and then the Red Wings took the 2-1 lead when Emmitt Finnie netted his 12th of the year. Patrick Kane then scored his second of the period to put Detroit up 3-1 but then the Flames got within a goal when Matt Coronato struck with his 15th. Moritz Seider then scored a power play goal, his ninth score of the year, as Detroit re-took the two goal lead. In the third, Dominik Shine scored an empty net goal, his second goal of the year, to give the Red Wings the 5-2 win over the Flames.

Boston Bruins v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
- In New Jersey, the Devils hosted the Bruins for the lone time on the season and in the first Boston took the early 1-0 lead when David Pastrnak scored his 25th goal of the season and then Pavel Zacha scored his 20th as the B’s went up 2-0. In the second, Connor Brown netted his 12th as New Jersey got on the board and then Jesper Bratt’s 15th of the year evened the score 2-2. In the third, New Jersey took the 3-2 lead with Paul Cotter’s seventh of the year but then David Pastrnak scored his second of the night the Bruins tied the contest. In overtime, Paul Cotter scored the game winner, his second goal of the night, to give the Devils the 4-3 win over the Bruins.
Los Angeles Kings v. New York Rangers – 7p ET
- In Manhattan, the Rangers hosted the Kings and in the first Los Angeles took the 1-0 lead when Drew Doughty scored his fifth of the year. In the second, the Kings took the 2-0 lead when Mikey Anderson scored his fourth of the year and then Alex Laferriere netted his 17th on the L.A. power play to put the Kings up 3-0. In the third, the Blueshirts got on the board when Vincent Trocheck scored a power play goal, his 14th goal of the year, but then Trevor Moore hit the empty net for hsi ninth goal of the year as the Kings defeated the Rangers 4-1.
Utah Mammoth v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET
- In Dallas, the Stars hosted the Mammoth and in the first Dallas took the 1-0 lead when Sam Steel scored his 12th of the year but then Utah tied the game when Clayton Keller scored his 20th of the year. In the second, Nate Schmidt scored his fifth as the Mammoth went up 2-1 but then Wyatt Johnston netted his 37th as Dallas tied the game. In the third, Jack McBain netted a shorthanded goal, his seventh, to put Utah up 3-2 and then Kailer Yamamoto’s 10th gave the Mammoth the 4-2 lead. Michael Carcone then scored his 14th with a power play goal to put Utah up 5-2 and then Lawson Crouse scored an empty net goal to put Utah up 6-2. Dallas’ Adam Erne then scored his fifth but the Mammoth stood pat to down the Stars 6-3.
