News

  • The NHL’s Department of Player Safety fined Tampa Bay’s Brandon Hagel has been fined $5,000 for serving as the aggressor in an altercation with Buffalo’s Rasmus Dahlin.
    • The fine is the maximum allowed under the NHL’s Collective Bargaining Agreement and the fine goes into the NHL’s Player Emergency Assistance Fund.
  • The NHL announced the Three Stars of the Week. The first star went to Winnipeg Jets F Mark Scheifele
    • The Second Star went to Colorado Avalance C Martin Necas and the Third Star went to Buffalo Sabres F Tage Thompson.

  • The PWHL announced that Minnesota Frost F Taylor Heise was named the Player of the Week
    • Heise lead the Frost to the 3-2 win over Toronto with a power play goal as well as two assists

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Los Angeles Kings v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 4p ET

  • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets hosted the Kings and in the first Los Angeles took the 1-0 lead with Scott Laughton’s 10th of the year and then Artemi Panarin’s 21st put the Kings up 2-0.  Then, Columbus got on the board as Conor Garland scored his eighth of the year.  In the second, Denton Mateychuk struck with his 10th as Columbus tied the game and then Conor Garland scored his second of the game to give the Blue Jackets the 3-2 lead.  Adrian Kempe then scored his 24th of the year as the Kings evened the score 3-3.  In the third, Brian Dumoulin scored his second of the year to put Los Angeles back in the lead but then Columbus tied the game as Kirill Marchenko scored his 23rd of the year on the power play.  In overtime, Adrian Kempe scored the game winner, his second of the game, as the Kings defeat the Blue Jackets 5-4.

New York Rangers v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Flyers hosted the Rangers and in the first New York took the 1-0 lead as Noah Laba scored his seventh of the year and then Mika Zinbanehad netted his 26th to give the Rangers the 2-0 lead.  Then, Alexis Lafrenière scored a power play goal, his 15th goal of the year, to give the Blueshirts the 3-0 lead.  In the second, Philadelphia got on the board with a power play goal from Matvei Michkov, his 16th goal of the year, but then Gabe Perreault scored his sixth of the year on the power play as the Rangers went up 4-1.  Then, Mika Zibanejad scored his second of the night with a power play goal, to put New York up 5-1 and then Vladislav Gavrikov scored his 13th of the year as the Blueshirts went up 6-1.  In the third, Sean Couturier scored his seventh for Philadelphia but the Rangers stood pat to soundly defeat the Flyers 6-2.

Calgary Flames v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET

  • In Washington, the Capitals hosted the Flames and in the first Washington took the 1-0 lead when Hendrix Lapierre netted his third of the year and then Tom Wilson scored his 24th to put the Caps up 2-0.  Then, Connor McMichael scored his ninth of the year as Washington went up 3-0.  In the second, Calgary got on the board when Matvei Gridin scored his fourth of the year and then Blake Coleman scored his 15th of the year with a shorthanded goal.  Then, Calgary tied the game as Yegor Sharangovich scored his 13th of the year with a shorthanded goal.  In the third, Connor McMichael scored his second of the night to put Washington back in the lead and then Justin Sourdif scored his 13th of the year as Washington went up 5-3.  Ethen Frank then scored an empty net goal as the Caps went up 6-3 and then Ryan Leonard scored his 12th of the year as the Capitals doused the Flames 7-3.

Utah Mammoth v. Chicago Blackhawks – 830p ET

  • In Chicago, the Blackhawks hosted the Mammoth and in the first Barrett Hayton scored his ninth to put Utah up 1-0 but then Andrew Mangiapane scored his eighth to get Chicago on the board.  Then, Dylan Guenther scored his 30th to give the Mammoth the lead back.  In the second, Andre Burakovsky scored his 11th as Chicago tied the game once more.  Following a scoreless third, Frank Nazar scored the game winner on the Chicago power play to give the Blackhawks the 3-2 win over the Mammoth.
