Notable Trades
- The Washington Capitals and Anaheim Ducks made a trade.
- The Ducks acquired defenseman John Carlson.
- The Capitals acquired a Conditional 2026 1st Round Pick and a 2027 3rd Round Pick.
- The Capitals would continue to make deals as they would make trades with both the San Jose Sharks and Vancouver Canucks.
- The Capitals acquired defenseman Timothy Liljegren.
- The Sharks acquired a 2026 4th Round Pick (VGK).

- The Canucks acquired a 2026 6th Round Pick.
- The Minnesota Wild acquired forward Bobby Brink from the Philadelphia Flyers for defenseman David Jiricek. The Wild would also acquire forward Nick Foligno from the Chicago Blackhawks for future considerations.
- The St. Louis Blues made some major trades with the New York Islanders and Detroit Red Wings.
- The Blues acquired forward Jonathan Drouin, goaltender Marcus Gidlof, and 2026 1st and 3rd Round Picks.

- The Red Wings acquired defenseman Justin Faulk.
- The Tampa Bay Lightning would make a trade with the Los Angeles Kings for a reunion.
- The Lightning acquired forward Corey Perry.
- The Kings acquired a 2028 2nd Round Pick and Retained 50% of Perry’s salary.
- The Colorado Avalanche would also do a trade to reunite with a player as they made a deal with the Calgary Flames.
- The Avalanche acquired forward Nazem Kadri and a 2027 4th Round Pick.
- The Flames acquired forwards Victor Olofsson and Max Curran, and Conditional 2028 1st Round and 2027 2nd Round Picks.
- Flames also retained 20% of Kadri’s salary.
Other News
- The New York Islanders re-signed forward Jean-Gabriel Pageau.
- Pageau would sign a 3 year deal with a cap hit of $4.85 million per season.
- The Seattle Kraken re-signed forward Jordan Eberle.
- Eberle signed a 2 year deal with an AAV of $5.5 million per season.
- The San Jose Sharks re-signed goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic.
- Nedeljkovic would sign a 2 year deal with an AAV of $3 million per season.
- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin.
- Malkin would be suspended 5 games for slashing Buffalo Sabres defenseman Rasmus Dahlin on Thursday, March 5th, 2026.
- Malkin will forfeit $158,854.15 based on his average annual salary per the CBA.

Florida Panthers v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET
- In Detroit following the close of the NHL Trade Deadline, the Red Wings would play host to the Florida Panthers, and in the first period, Matthew Tkachuk would score to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Alex DeBrincat would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Wings. Then in the third period, Tkachuk would score on the powerplay and an empty netter to get the hat trick and to give the Panthers the 3-1 victory over the Red Wings.

Colorado Avalanche v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET
- In Dallas, the Colorado Avalanche would visit the Stars, and in the first period, Cale Makar would score on the powerplay to give the Avalanche the 1-0 lead, but goals from Miro Heiskanen (PPG), Wyatt Johnston, and Justin Hryckowian would give the stars the 3-1 lead. However, Nathan MacKinnon would score on the powerplay to get the Avalanche back within one. In the second period, Jamie Benn would score to reclaim the two goal lead for the Stars, but Martin Necas would score to get the Avalanche back within one again. Then in the third period, Valeri Nichushkin would score to tie the game at 4 to send the game to overtime for the Avalanche. After a scoreless five minutes of extra hockey, it would be Necas with the shootout winner to give the Avalanche the 5-4 victory over the Stars.
Vancouver Canucks v. Chicago Blackhawks – 830p ET
- In Chicago, the Blackhawks would battle the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period, Ryan Donato would open the scoring for the Blackhawks, but goals from Drew O’Connor, Jake DeBrusk, and Teddy Blueger would give the Canucks the 3-1 lead. However, Ilya Mikheyev would score to cut the Blackhawks deficit to one. In the second period, Frank Nazar would score for the Blackhawks to tie the game at three. Then in the third period, Brock Boeser would score a powerplay and empty net goal and Max Sasson would score an empty netter to give the Canucks the 6-3 victory over the Blackhawks.
