News
- The San Jose Sharks and F Kiefer Sherwood announced a five-year contract extension worth $28.75 million ($5.75M AAV)
- The Edmonton Oilers have acquired F Jason Dickinson and Colton Dach in exchange for F Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional first round pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft.
- Chicago will retain 50% of Dickinson’s $4.25 million salary
- The conditions for the trade are:
- The 2027 first round pick is top 12 protected and will transfer to a 2028 first rounder if Edmonton retains the pick.
- If Edmonton trades the 2028 first round pick before the 2027 NHL Trade Deadline, the 2027 first rounder becomes Chicago’s pick.
- The Nashville Predators acquired a fifth round draft pick in the 2027 NHL Entry Draft from the Colorado Avalanche for D Nick Blankenburg.
- The Calgary Flames traded D MacKenzie Weegar to the Utah Mammoth for D Olli Määttä, F prospect Jonathan Castagna, and three second round picks in the 2026 NHL Entry Draft.
- Two of the picks acquired previously belonged to the Ottawa Senators and the New York Rangers.
- Toronto Maple Leafs D Chris Tanev underwent core muscle surgery. He is expected to be at full strength for training camp in September.
- The Washington Capitals and D Ethen Frank have agreed to a two year contract extension worth $4 million ($2 million AAV)

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps
Vegas Golden Knights v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET
- In Detroit, the Golden Knights made the lone visit to the Motor City to take on the Red Wings and in the first Vegas took the 1-0 lead with Reilly Smith’s 11th of the year but then Detroit got on the board when Emmitt Finnie scored his 11th of the year. Simon Edvinsson then went on to score his eighth of the year as Detroit took the 2-1 lead and then Alex DeBrincat scored his 32nd of the year to put the Red Wings up 3-1. After a scoreless second, Ivan Barbashev scored his 19th to bring Vegas within a goal and then Mitch Marner’s 17th goal of the year tied the game. In overtime, Tomas Hertl scored his 24th of the year to give the Golden Knights the 4-3 come from behind victory over the Devils.

Toronto Maple Leafs v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
- In New Jersey, the Devils hosted the Maple Leafs and in the first Toronto took the 1-0 lead with Matias Maccelli’s 11th of the year but then New Jersey tied the game as Timo Meier scored his 17th of the year. In the second, William Nylander scored a power play goal, his 21st goal of the year, to put the Leafs back in the lead but then the Devils tied the game once more when Arseny Gritsyuk netted his 11th of the year. In the third, Toronto took the lead back once more with Matthew Knies 16th of the year but then New Jersey tied the game for the third time as Connor Brown scored his 11th of the year. After a scoreless overtime, the game moved to the shootout where Jesper Bratt scored the game winner to give the Devils the 4-3 victory over the Maple Leafs.
Seattle Torrent v. Ottawa Charge – 7p ET
- In Ottawa, the lone game on the night in the PWHL featured Seattle visiting Ottawa. In the first, Alexa Vasko scored her first goal of the year to put the Charge up 1-0 and then Fanuza Kadirova scored her fifth as Ottawa went up 2-0. In the second, Seattle got on the board as Jessie Eldridge scored her sixth on the power play but the Charge re-took the two goal lead when Emily Clark scored her third of the year. Then, Jessie Eldridge scored her second power play goal of the period as the Torrent clawed within a goal once more. In the third, Seattle tied the game with a penalty shot, the first ever in PWHL history, from Alex Carpenter, her sixth goal of the season but then Fanuza Kadirova scored her second of the night on the power play as the Charge got the 4-3 win over the Torrent
