News

  • Before the Olympic Roster Freeze took place, there would be a pair of trades.
    • First, the New Jersey Devils and St. Louis Blues would make a trade.
      • The Devils acquired forward Nick Bjugstad.
      • The Blues acquired forward Thomas Bordeleau and a conditional 2026 6th Rd Pick.

  • The New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings would make a trade.
    • The Kings acquired forward Artemi Panarin.
    • The Rangers acquired forward Liam Greentree, a conditional 2026 3rd Rd Pick, and a conditional 2028 4th Rd Pick.

  • The Kings would also sign Panarin to a 2 year extension with an AAV of $11 million per season.

  • 2026 NHL Draft Prospect Gavin McKenna, currently playing for Penn State, has been charge with a Felony Charge in Pennsylvania.
    • McKenna is also facing three additional charges.
    • The case is still currently ongoing.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Boston Bruins v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET

  • In Florida, it would be a colour v. colour matchup as both Florida and Boston wore their outdoor jerseys in a key match-up.  In the first, Eetu Luostarinen scored his seventh to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead but then Boston’s Michael Eyssimont scored a pair to give the B’s the 2-1 lead.  In the second, Uvis Balinskis scored his fifth on the Panthers power play to tie the game and then Matthew Tkachuk scored a power play goal of his own to put Florida back in the lead.  Then, Anton Lundell scored his 16th with a shorthanded goal to give the Panthers the two goal lead.  In the third, Mark Kastelic netted his ninth to put the B’s within a goal and then Casey Mittelstadt scored a power play goal, his 12th goal of the year, to tie the game.  After a scoreless overtime, Brad Marchand scored the game winner to give the Panthers the 5-4 win over the Bruins.

Chicago Blackhawks v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET

  • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets welcomed the Blackhawks and in the first Zach Werenski scored his 20th to put Columbus on the board and then Ivan Provorov scored his sixth to give the Blue Jackets the 2-0 lead.  In the second, Danton Heinen netted his third to put Columbus up 3-0.  In the third, Sean Monahan scored an empty net goal, his 10th goal of the year, as the Blue Jackets went out to shutout the Blackhawks 4-0.

Montréal Canadiens v. Winnipeg Jets – 7p ET

  • In Winnipeg, the Jets welcomed the Canadiens and in the first Winnipeg took the 1-0 lead with a power play goal from Kyle Connor, his 25th goal of the year, but then Oliver Kapanen netted his 18th of the year to tie the game for Montréal.  In the second, Josh Anderson’s 12th of the year gave the Canadiens the 2-1 lead and then Lane Hutson netted his 10th as the Habs went up 3-1.  In the third, Montréal took the 4-1 lead with a power play goal from Brendan Gallagher, his sixth of the year, and then Phillip Danault scored an empty net, shorthanded goal as the Canadiens scored five unanswered to down the Jets 5-1.

 

Minnesota Wild v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

  • In Nashville, the Predators hosted the Wild for the first time this season and in the first Matt Boldy scored a pair of goals, the second being on the Minnesota power play, but then Filip Forsberg scored a power play goal of his own as Nashville got on the board.  Then, Matt Boldy completed the hat trick as the Wild re-took the two goals lead but Steven Stamkos scored a power play goal, his 28th goal on the year, as the Predators came within a goal once more.  Erik Haula then scored his ninth of the year as Nashville tied the game 3-3.  In the second, Luke Evangelista scored his eighth of the year to put Nashville in the lead for the first time in the contest but then Minnesota tied the contest with Yakov Trenin’s fifth of the year.  In the third, Vladimir Tarasenko scored his 15th of the year to put Minnesota back in the lead but Roman Josi’s 11th of the year evened the ice for Nashville.  In overtime, Jared Spurgeon’s sixth of the year gave the Wild the 6-5 win over the Predators.
