Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Los Angeles Kings v. Philadelphia Flyers – 1230p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Flyers would host the Los Angeles Kings for an early afternoon matinee, and in the first period, Adrian Kempe would score a pair of goals to give the Kings the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Trevor Zegras would score his 20th of the season while on the powerplay to get the Flyers on the board and back within one. Then in the third period, Travis Konecny would score to tie the game at two for the Flyers to force overtime. In the extra frame, Quinten Byfield would score to give the Kings the 3-2 overtime victory over the Flyers.

Colorado Avalanche v. Detroit Red Wings – 1p ET

  • In Detroit, the Colorado Avalanche would come to town to battle the Red Wings, and in the first period, Brent Burns and Nathan MacKinnon would score to give the Avalanche the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Ross Colton would score and MacKinnon would net his second of the game to become the first 40 goal scorer of the season to grow Colorado’s lead to 4. Then in the third period, Parker Kelly would score to give the Avalanche the 5-0 victory over the Red Wings. Mackenzie Blackwood would make 28 saves to earn the shutout for the Avalanche.

New York Rangers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 330p ET

  • In Pittsburgh for an afternoon matinee, the Penguins would play host to the New York Rangers for a Metro Division matchup, and in the first period, Anthony Mantha and Noel Acciari would score to give the Penguins the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Mantha would net his second of the game to grow the Penguins lead to three, but Alexis Lafreniere would score on the powerplay to get the Rangers on the board and back within two. Then it would be a wild third period, as Rickard Rakell (PPG) and Acciari would score for the Penguins to take the 5-1 lead, but goals from Vincent Trocheck and Vladislav Gavrikov would score to get the Rangers back within 2. However, Ben Kindel would score an empty netter to give the Penguins the 6-3 lead, and while Lafreniere would net his second of the game and Will Cuylle would score for the Rangers, the Penguins would hold on for the 6-5 victory over the Rangers.

Winnipeg Jets v. Florida Panthers – 4p ET

  • In Florida, the Panthers would play host to the Winnipeg Jets, and in the first period, Eetu Luostarinen would score to give the Panthers the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Cole Perfetti and Mark Scheifele would score to give the Jets the 2-1 victory over the Panthers.

San Jose Sharks v. Calgary Flames – 4p ET

  • In Calgary, the Flames would look to end their five game losing streak as they host the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period, Will Smith and Morgan Frost would trade powerplay goals for the 1-1 tie. In the second period, both teams would trade goals again as Adam Gaudette would score for the Sharks and Matvei Gridin would score for the Flames for the 2-2 tie. Then in the third period, Joel Farabee would score shorthanded to give the Flames the 3-2 victory over the Sharks.

Carolina Hurricanes v. Washington Capitals – 5p ET

  • In Washington, the Capitals would return home for the first time in two weeks to play host to the Carolina Hurricanes for a Metro Division matchup, and in the first period, Mark Jankowski and Sebastian Aho would score to give the Hurricanes the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Shayne Gostisbehere would score to grow the Hurricanes lead to three, but goals from Hendrix Lapierre and Dylan Strome would get the Capitals on the board and back within one. Then in the third period, Jakob Chychrun would score to tie the game at three as the Capitals would force overtime. In the extra frame, Justin Sourdif would bury the loose puck into a wide open net to give the Capitals the 4-3 overtime victory over the Hurricanes.

Montreal Canadiens v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET

  • In Buffalo, the Montreal Canadiens would come to town to battle the Sabres, and in the first period, Juraj Slafkovsky would score on the powerplay to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Owen Power and Noah Ostlund (PPG) would score to give the Sabres the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Cole Caufield would score a pair of goals and Oliver Kapanen would score an empty netter to give the Canadiens the 4-2 victory over the Sabres.

New Jersey Devils v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa, Linus Ullmark would return to the net for the Senators as they play host to the New Jersey Devils, and in the first period, Brady Tkachuk would score on the powerplay to give the Senators the 1-0 lead, but Timo Meier would score to tie the game at one. Then after a scoreless second period, Dylan Cozens (PPG), Tim Stutzle, and Shane Pinto (ENG) would score to give the Senators the 4-1 victory over the Devils. Ullmark would make 26 saves to earn the victory in his return for the Senators.

Nashville Predators v. New York Islanders – 7p ET

  • On Long Island, the New York Islanders would play host to the Nashville Predators, and in the first period, Mathew Barzal and Matthew Schaefer would score for the Islanders to take the 2-0 lead, but goals from Filip Forsberg (PPG) and Matthew Wood would tie the game at two for the Predators. In the second period, Jean-Gabriel Pageau would score to retake the lead for the Islanders, but Forsberg would net his second of the game to tie the game at three for the Predators. Then in the third period, Roman Josi would score his 10th of the season to give the Predators the 4-3 victory over the Islanders.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. St. Louis Blues – 7p ET

  • In St. Louis, the Blues would play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period, Jimmy Snuggerud would score for the Blues, but goals from Isac Lundestrom and Denton Mateychuk would give the Jackets the 2-1 lead. In the second period, both teams would trade goals multiple times as Jonatan Berggren (PPG) and Tyler Tucker would score for the Blues while Kent Johnson (PPG) and Damon Severson would score for the Blue Jackets to keep the one goal lead. Then in the third period, Mason Marchment would score the empty netter to give the Blue Jackets the 5-3 victory over the Blues.

Toronto Maple Leafs v. Vancouver Canucks – 7p ET

  • In Vancouver, the Canucks would play host to the Toronto Maple Leafs for Hockey Night in Canada, and after a scoreless first period, Jonathan Lekkerimaki would score score early for the Canucks to take the 1-0 lead. Nicolas Roy would score later in the period to tie the game at one for the Leafs, but Tom Willander would score to retake the lead for the Canucks. Then in the third period, Max Domi would score to tie the game at two for the Leafs to force overtime. After a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey, William Nylander would score the shootout winner to give the Maple Leafs the 3-2 victory over the Canucks.
