Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

New York Rangers v. Boston Bruins – 1p ET

  • In Boston for an Original Six matchup, the New York Rangers would come to town to battle the Bruins, and in the first period, Mika Zibanejad would open the scoring for the Rangers, gut Marat Khusnutdinov would score and Pavel Zacha would record a pair of goals for the Bruins to take the 3-1 lead. In the second period, J.T. Miller would score on the powerplay for the Rangers, but Khusnutdinov would net his second of the game, Zacha would score to complete the hat trick, and both Fraser Minton and Charlie McAvoy would score to give the Bruins the 6-2 lead. Then in the third period, Minten would score for his second of the game, and Khusnutdinov would net two more goals to give him a four goal game and to guide the Bruins to a dominating 10-2 victory over the Rangers.

Calgary Flames v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 330p ET

  • In Pittsburgh, the Penguins would play host to the Calgary Flames, and in the first period, Conor Zary would score to give the Flames the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Egor Chinakhov would score his fifth of the season to tie the game at one for the Penguins. Then in the third period, Matt Coronato would score to give the Flames the 2-1 victory over the Penguins.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Colorado Avalanche – 4p ET

  • In Colorado, the Avalanche would play host to the Columbus Blue Jackets, and in the first period, Brent Burns and Victor Olofsson would score to give the Avalanche the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Ilya Solovyov would score his first career NHL goal to grow Colorado’s lead to three. Then in the third period, Burns would net his second of the game to give the Avalanche the 4-0 victory over the Blue Jackets. Trent Miner would stop all 29 shots faced to earn both his first career NHL win and shutout.

Dallas Stars v. San Jose Sharks – 4p ET

  • In San Jose, the Dallas Stars would come to the Bay area to battle the Sharks, and in the first period, Justin Hryckowian and Jason Robertson would score to give the Stars the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Alexander Wennberg and Jeff Skinner would both score on the powerplay to tie the game at two for the Sharks, but Kyle Capobianco would score to retake the lead for the Stars. Then in the third period, Mikko Rantanen would score for the Stars, but goals from Tyler Toffoli (PPG) and Adam Gaudette would tie the game at 4 for the Sharks to force overtime. In the extra frame, Toffoli would net his second powerplay goal of the game to give the Sharks the 5-4 overtime victory over the Stars.

Anaheim Ducks v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET

  • In Buffalo, the Sabres would play host to the Anaheim Ducks, and in the first period, Jack Quinn would score to give the Sabres the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Tage Thompson would score for the Sabres to grow their lead to two. Then in the third period, Bowen Byram would score to grow the Sabres lead to three, but Olen Zellweger would score to get the Ducks on the board. While Quinn would score his second of the game to regain the three goal lead for the Sabres, Leo Carlsson and Mason McTavish would score to get the Ducks back within one, but Josh Norris would score and empty netter to give the Sabres the 5-3 victory over the Ducks.

Vancouver Canucks v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto for Hockey Night in Canada, the Vancouver Canucks would come to town to battle the Maple Leafs, and in the first period, the Leafs would get goals from Matias Maccelli (PPG), Max Domi, and William Nylander for the 3-0 lead. In the second period, John Tavares would score to grow the Leafs lead to four. Then in the third period, Nicholas Robertson would score a powerplay goal to give the Maple Leafs the 5-0 victory over the Canucks. Joseph Woll would stop all 29 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Leafs.

Detroit Red Wings v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal for another Original Six matchup, the Canadiens would play host to the Detroit Red Wings, and after a scoreless first period, Lucas Raymond and Dylan Larkin (PPG) would score to give the Red Wings the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period, Alex DeBrincat and Andrew Copp (ENG) would score to give the Red Wings the 4-0 victory over the Canadiens. John Gibson would stop all 27 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Red Wings.

Florida Panthers v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa, the Senators would play host to the Florida Panthers, and in the first period, Fabian Zetterlund would score for the Senators to take the 1-0 lead, but Evan Rodrigues would strike on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Panthers. In the second period, Carter Verhaeghe would score to give the Panthers the 2-1 lead. then in the third period, Drake Batherson would score for the Senators, but Gustav Forsling’s tally earlier in the period would give the Panthers the 3-2 victory over the Senators.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Tampa Bay Lightning would come to town to battle the Flyers, and in the first period, Garnet Hathaway would score his first of the season for the Flyers, but a pair of goals from Nikita Kucherov would give the Lightning the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Nick Paul would score to grow the Lightning’s lead to two. Then in the third period, Gage Goncalves and Brandon Hagel would score to give the Lightning the 5-1 lead, and while Owen Tippett would score on the powerplay for the Flyers, goals from Yanni Gourde and Goncalves would give the Lightning the 7-2 victory over the Flyers.

Seattle Kraken v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET

  • In Carolina, the Hurricanes would faceoff with the Seattle Kraken, and in the first period, Logan Stankoven would score his 10th of the season to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead, but Matty Beniers would score to tie the game at one for the Kraken. then after a scoreless second period, Berkly Catton would score for the Kraken, but goals from Jordan Martinook and William Carrier would give the Hurricanes the 3-2 victory over the Kraken.

Chicago Blackhawks v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

  • In Nashville, the Predators would play host tot he Chicago Blackhawks for a Central Division matchup, and after a scoreless first period, Tyler Bertuzzi would score on the powerplay to give the Blackhawks the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period, Nick Lardis and Ryan Greene (ENG) would score to give the Blackhawks the 3-0 victory over the Predators. Drew Commesso would make 36 saves to earn his first career NHL win and shutout.

New York Islanders v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET

  • In Minnesota, the Wild would go old school against the New York Islanders, and in the first period, Ben Jones would score for the Wild to take the 1-0 lead, but Jean-Gabriel Pageau would strike on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Islanders. However, Matt Boldy would score to retake the lead for the Wild. In the second period, Simon Holmstrom would score to tie the game at two for the Islanders, and then both teams would trade goals as Kirill Kaprizov would score his 25th of the season for the Wild while Casey Cizikas would score shorthanded for the Islanders to tie the game at three. Then after a scoreless third period, Holmstrom would score his second of the game to give the Islanders the 4-3 overtime victory over the Wild.
