  • In their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, Edmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl would record his 1,000th career NHL point.
    • Draisaitl would assist on Zach Hyman’s powerplay goal to earn his 1,000th career NHL point.
    • Draisaitl became the first German born player to reach the 1,000 point milestone.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Utah Mammoth v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET

  • In Boston, the Utah Mammoth would come to town to face off with the Bruins, and in the first period, Barrett Hayton would open the scoring for the Mammoth with a powerplay goal, but Morgan Geekie would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Bruins. In the second period, Geekie would net his second of the game to give the Bruins the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Casey Mittelstadt and Michael Eyssimont would score to give the Bruins the 4-1 victory over the Mammoth.

Chicago Blackhawks v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto, the Maple Leafs would play host to the Chicago Blackhawks for an Original Six matchup, and in the first period, Wyatt Kaiser and Jason Dickinson (SHG) would score to give the Blackhawks the 2-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Auston Matthews (PPG), and Dakota Joshua would score to give the MAple Leafs the 3-2 comeback victory over the Blackhawks. 

Philadelphia Flyers v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET

  • In Montreal, the Philadelphia Flyers would visit the Canadiens, and in the first period, Alexandre Texier would score to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead, but Carl Grundstrom would score to tie the game at one for the Flyers. In the second period, Trevor Zegras and Bobby Brink would score to give the Flyers the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period, Travis Konecny would get the empty netter to give the Flyers the 4-1 victory over the Canadiens.

New York Islanders v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET

  • In Detroit, the Red Wings would play host to the New York Islanders, and in the first period, Emil Heineman would score to give the Islanders the 1-0 lead. Then, after a scoreless second period, Axel Sandin-Pellikka and Alex DeBrincat (PPG) would score to give the Red Wings the 2-1 lead, but Scott Mayfield would score to tie the game at one for the Islanders. However, Debrincat’s second powerplay goal of the game, which was also his 20th of the season, would give the Red Wings the 3-2 victory over the Islanders.

Vancouver Canucks v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • At Madison Square Garden, the New York Rangers would battle the visiting Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period, Evander Kane would score to give the Canucks the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Liam Ohgren would score his first as a Canuck to give them the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period, Conor Garland would score a shorthanded empty netter to give the Canucks the 3-0 victory over the Rangers. Thatcher Demko would stop all 23 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Canucks.

Anaheim Ducks v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET

  • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets would play host to the Anaheim Ducks, and in the first period, Zach Werenski would score his 10th of the season to give the Jackets the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Ryan Strome would score to tie the game at one for the Ducks, but goals from Werenski and Boone Jenner would give the Ducks the 3-1 lead. However, Mikael Granlund would score to get the Ducks back within one. Then in the third period, Jackson LaCombe would score to tie the game at three for the Ducks to force overtime. In the extra frame, Adam Fantilli would score to give the Blue Jackets the 4-3 overtime victory over the Ducks.

Edmonton Oilers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 730p ET

  • In Pittsburgh, 4 days after being traded for each other, Tristan Jarry would come to town with the Edmonton Oilers to face off against Stuart Skinner and the Penguins, and in the first period, Zach Hyman and Connor McDavid would both score on the powerplay to give the Oilers the 2-0 lead, but Tommy Novak would score to get the Penguins on the board and back within one. In the second period, Matt Savoie would score to give the Oilers the 3-1 lead. However, Erik Karlsson would score on the powerplay to get the Penguins back within one, but Evan Bouchard would score on the powerplay to retake the two goal lead for the Oilers. Then in the third period, Vasily Podkolzin would score to give the Oilers the 5-2 lead, but Bryan Rust would score to get the Penguins back within two. Danton Heinen would also score for the Penguins, however, McDavid would net his second of the game, and 20th of the season, to give the Oilers the 6-4 victory over the Penguins.

Washington Capitals v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET

  • In Minnesota, the Washington Capitals would wrap up their two game road trip with a matchup against Quinn Hughes and the Wild, and in the first period, Vladimir Tarasenko would score to give the Wild the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Kirill Kaprizov would score on the powerplay to give the Wild the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period, Tarasenko would net his second of the game, Danila Yurov would score, and Matt Boldy would score shorthanded to give the Wild the 5-0 victory over the Capitals. Filip Gustavsson would stop all 25 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Wild.
