- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Toronto Maple Leafs forward Bobby McCann.
- McCann was suspended for one game for high sticking Tampa Bay Lightning forward Oliver Bjorkstrand on Mandy, December 8th, 2025.
- McCann will forfeit $7,031.25 based on his average annual salary per the terms of the CBA.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Montreal Canadiens – 7p ET
- In Montreal, the Canadiens would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period, Brayden Point, Pontus Holmberg, and Nikita Kucherov would score to give the Lightning the 3-0 lead. In the second period, Charle-Edouard D’Astous would score to grow Tampa’s lead to 4, but Oliver Kapanen’s powerplay tally would get the Canadiens on the board and end the shutout bid. Then in the third period, Darren Raddysh would score a pair of goals, including one being on the powerplay, to give the Lightning the dominant 6-1 victory over the Canadiens.
New Jersey Devils v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
- In Ottawa, the New Jersey Devils would come to the Canadian capital to faceoff with the Senators, and in the first period, both teams would trade goals multiple times as Drake Batherson and Tim Stutzle would both score powerplay goals for the Senators, but goals from Simon Nemec and Arseny Gritsyuk would allow the Devils to leave the first period tied at two. In the second period, Paul Cotter would score for the Devils, but Batherson’s second powerplay goal of the game would tie the game at three for the Senators. Then in the third period, Cody Glass would score to give the Devils the 4-3 victory over the Senators.
Vegas Golden Knights v. New York Islanders – 7p ET
- On Long Island, the New York Islanders would play host to the Vegas Golden Knights, and in the first period, Noah Hanafin and Mitch Marner would open the scoring for the Knights to take the 2-0 lead, but Bo Horvat would score to get the Islanders on the board and back within one. In the second period, Marc Gatcomb and Simon Holmstrom would score to give the Islanders the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period, Horvat would score his second of the game while on the powerplay for the Islanders, but goals from Ivan Barbashev and Pavel Dorofeyev would tie the game at 4 for the Knights to force overtime. After a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey, it would be Emil Heineman with the shootout winner to give the Islanders the 5-4 victory over the Golden Knights.
San Jose Sharks v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p
- In Philadelphia, the San Jose Sharks would come to town to battle the Flyers, and in the first period, Collin Graf would score to give the Sharks the 1-0 lead, but Christian Dvorak would score to tie the game at one for the Flyers. In the second period, Carl Grundstrom would score his first as a Flyer and Noah Cates would score to give the Flyers the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period, Travis Konecny would score the empty netter to give the Flyers the 4-1 victory over the Sharks.
Anaheim Ducks v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET
- In Pittsburgh, the Penguins would play host to the Anaheim Ducks, and in the first period, Noel Acciari would score to give the Penguins the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Jackson LaCombe and Troy Terry would score to give the Ducks the 2-1 lead, but Tommy Novak would score to tie the game at two for the Penguins. Then in the third period, Anthony Mantha would score on the powerplay to give the Penguins the 3-2 lead, but Beckett Sennecke would score shorthanded with 0.1 second left in regulation to tie the game at three for the Ducks to force overtime. After a scoreless extra five minutes of hockey, Leo Carlsson would score the shootout winner to give the Ducks the 4-3 victory over the Penguins.
Columbus Blue Jackets v. Carolina Hurricanes – 730p ET
- In Carolina, the 20th anniversary celebration continued for the 2006 Stanley Cup Hurricanes as the Columbus Blue Jackets come to town for a Metro Division battle, and in the first period, Dmitri Voronkov would score on the powerplay to give the Jackets the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Seth Jarvis would score to tie the game at one for the Hurricanes. Then in the third period, Eric Robinson, Jordan Staal (PPG), and Jordan Martinook (SHENG) would score to give the Hurricanes the 4-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.
Boston Bruins v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET
- In St. Louis, the Boston Bruins would come to town to battle the Blues, and in the first period, Robert Thomas would score on the powerplay to give the Blues the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Fraser Minten and Mark Kastelic would score to give the Bruins the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Thomas would net his second of the game for the Blues to tie the game at two, but both Kastelic and Minten would net their second goals of the game and Pavel Zacha would score the empty netter to give the Bruins the 5-2 victory over the Blues.
Dallas Stars v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET
- In Winnipeg, the Jets would rock their heritage blues as they host the Dallas Stars, and in the first period, Esa Lindell would score to give the Stars the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Roope Hintz (PPG) and Alexander Petrovic would score to give the Stars the 3-0 lead, but Mark Scheifele would score a pair of goals to get the Jets back within one. Then in the third period, Jason Robertson would score on the powerplay to give the Stars the 4-2 lead, but while Logan Stanley would score shortly later for the Jets, the Stars would hold on for the 4-3 victory over the Jets.
