Nashville Predators v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET
- In Detroit, the Red Wings welcomed the Predators back to the Motor City and in the first Nashville took the 1-0 lead when Michael Bunting scored a power play goal, his fifth on the year. In the second, Detroit got on the board when Alex DeBrincat scored a power play goal, his 12th, and then James van Riemsdyk scored a power play goal of his own, his third of the year, to put the Red Wings up 2-1. In the third, Nick Blankenburg’s third of the year tied the game for Nashville and then Roman Josi scored his second to give the Preds the 3-2 lead. Then, Ben Chiarot scored his third to tie the game for Detroit but then Ryan O’Reilly netted his seventh to put Nashville back in the lead. Then, Erik Haula scored his fourth to put Nashville up two and then Steven Stamkos scored an empty netter, his fifth, as the Predators got the 6-3 win over the Red Wings.
Vancouver Goldeneyes v. Ottawa Charge – 7p ET (PWHL)
- In Ottawa, the Vancouver Goldeneyes face off against the Ottawa Charge for the first time ever and in the first Brianne Jenner scored her first goal of the PWHL season to give Ottawa the 1-0 lead. In the second, Mannon McMahon scored her first on the year to put the Charge up 2-0. In the third, Rebecca Leslie got her first of the year to put Ottawa up 3-0 but then Claire Thompson’s second of the year put Vancouver on the board. Then Ottawa took back the three goal lead when Anna Meixner got her first of the year and then Brianne Jenner got her second of the night as the Charge breeze by the Goldeneyes for the 5-1 victory.
Calgary Flames v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET
- In Tampa, the Lightning welcomed the Flames and in the first Tampa Bay took the 1-0 lead when Brandon Hagel got his 12th and then Charle-Edouard D’Astous went on to net his second to put the Bolts up 2-0. Then, Zemgus Girgensons netted his fifth to put Tampa up 3-0 and then Declan Carlile got his first of the year to give the Lightning the 4-0 lead. Following a scoreless second, Joe Farabee’s sixth of the year on a Flames power play, put Calgary on the board but then Nikita Kucherov scored his 11th as the Lightning got the 5-1 win over the Flames.
Philadelphia Flyers v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET
- In Florida, the Panthers hosted the Flyers and in the first Brad Marchand’s 14th put Florida in the 1-0 lead. In the second, Carter Cerhaeghe’s fourth of the year put the Panthers up 2-0 but then Emil Andrae got his first to put the Flyers on the board. Then, Matvei Michkov netted his sixth to even the score. In the third, Tyson Foerster struck with his eighth to put Philly in the lead and then Sean Couturier got his third as the Flyers scored four unanswered to down the Panthers 4-2.
St. Louis Blues v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
- In Newark, the Devils hosted the Blues for their lone matchup in the Garden State. In the first, St. Louis took the 1-0 lead when Cam Fowler scored his first but then Timo Meier’s eighth tied the game for New Jersey. Then, Robert Thomas scored a power play goal, his fourth, as the Blues took the 2-1 lead. In the second, Nico Hischier scored his eighth as the Devs tied the game. After a scoreless third, Simon Nemec scored his fifth as the Devils downed the Blues 3-2.
Boston Bruins v. New York Islanders – 7p ET
- In Long Island, the Islanders hosted the Bruins and in the first Mathew Barzal scored his seventh as the Isles took the 1-0 lead but then Alex Steeves second of the year put the Bruins on the board. In the second, Boston took the 2-1 lead when Tanner Jeannot netted his third. In the third, Alex Steeves scored his second of the night with a shorthanded goal as the Bruins scored three unanswered to earn the 3-1 win over the Islanders.
Buffalo Sabres v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET
- In Pittsburgh, the Penguins hosted the Sabres in the Steel City. In the first, Matt Dumba’s first of the year put the Penguins on the board. With a scoreless second, Jason Zucker got his sixth to put Buffalo on the board but then Bryan Rust’s sixth of the year put Pittsburgh back in the lead. Then, Kevin Hayes got his first of the year to put the Pens up two but Jack Quinn got his sixth of the year as Buffalo came within a goal. Connor Dewar then hit an empty netter with his fifth on the year as the Penguins doubled up the Sabres 4-2.
Winnipeg Jets v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET
- In Washington, the Capitals hosted the Jets in the first of two match-ups on the year and in the first Washington took the 1-0 lead when John Carlson scored his sixth and then Jakob Chychrun scored his ninth to put the Caps up 2-0. Then, Gabriel Vilardi’s ninth of the year put the Jets on the board. In the second, Gabriel Vilardi’s power play goal, his second goal on the night, tied the game for Winnipeg but then Alex Ovechkin got his 11th to put Washington back in the lead for good. In the third, Connor McMichael netted his third but then Mark Scheifele struck with his 12th but a Winnipeg comeback fell short on the night as the Capitals squeaked by the Jets 4-3.
New York Rangers v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET
- In Raleigh, the Hurricanes hosted the Rangers and in the first New York took the 1-0 lead when Noah Laba scored his fourth. In the second, Carolina got on the board when Shayne Gostisbehere scored a power play goal but then the Blueshirts re-took the lead when Artemi Panarin got his seventh. In the third, Vincent Trocheck scored his fifth to put New York up a pair but then Seth Jarvis struck with his 12th to bring the Canes within a goal. WIll Cuylle then scored an empty netter as the Rangers downed the Hurricanes 4-2.
Toronto Maple Leafs v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET
- In Columbus, the Blue Jackets hosted the Maple Leafs and after a scoreless first and second period, Zach Werenski socred his eighth to put Columbus on the board but then Easton Cowen scored his second as Toronto tied the game. Then, in overtime, William Nylander scored his 11th as the Maple Leafs got the 2-1 victory over the Blue Jackets.
Minnesota Wild v. Chicago Blackhawks – 830p ET
- In Chicago, the Blackhawks and Wild faced off in a divisional match-up in the Windy City. After a scoreless first, Chicago took the 1-0 lead when Jason Dickinson scored his second and then Connor Bedard netted his 14th to put the Blackhawks up 2-0. Then, Brock Faber scored his sixth as the Wild got on the board. In the third, Nico Sturm got his first as Minnesota tied the game but then Artyom Levshunov’s first put Detroit back in the lead. Then, Matt Boldy scored his 14th as the Wild made it a 3-3 game. IN overtime, Kirill Kaprizov then scored his 14th on a Minnesota power play to give the Wild the 4-3 win over the Blackhawks.
