- The Los Angeles Kings announced that they have re-signed forward Adrian Kempe.
- Kempe signed an 8-year deal with an AAV of $10.625 million per season.
- The NHL announced that they have named Dallas Stars forward Jason Robertson as the NHL’s First Star of the Week.
- Alex DeBrincat (DET) and Quinn Hughes (VAN) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps
Carolina Hurricanes v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
- In Boston, the Bruins hosted the Hurricanes and after a scoreless first, Carolina would jump out to the 1-0 lead when Jordan Staal got his fifth and then the lead would grow to 2-0 when Mark Jankowski got his first of the season. In the third, Carolina jumped out to the 3-0 lead with Taylor Hall’s fifth but then Boston got on the board with 13 seconds left as Riley Tufte scored a power play goal, his first on the year. However, the Hurricanes stormed by the Bruins to get the 3-1 win.
Edmonton Oilers v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET
- In Buffalo, the Sabres welcomed the Oilers for their lone matchup in Western New York and in the first Noah Ostlund scored the man-advantage goal to give Buffalo the 1-0 lead. In the second, Edmonton evened the ice when Jack Roslovic got his seventh but then Bowen Byram got his third to give the Sabres the lead back. Then, Beck Malenstyn got his first of the year to give Buffalo the 3-1 lead. In the third, Noah Ostlund netted his second of the game as the Sabres took the 4-1 lead. Then, Tage Thompson scored his fifth of the year as the Sabres blow by the Oilers for the 5-1 victory.
Vancouver Canucks v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET
- In Florida, the Panthers welcomed the Canucks for their lone visit to South Florida on the year and in the first Vancouver took the 1-0 lead when Drew O’Connor got his sixth of the year. Then, the ‘Nucks took the 2-0 lead when Jake DeBrusk scored a man-advantage goal, his eighth of the year, but then Florida got on the board when A.J. Greer scored his fourth. Seth Jones then scored his second on the year as Florida tied the game. In the second, the Panthers took the lead with Luke Kunin’s first on the season and then Florida’s lead grew to two with Evan Rodrigues’ fifth. Anton Lundell’s fifth of the year gave the Panthers the three goal lead but then Vancouver cut the lead by two when Elias Pettersson scored his fifth of the year. In the third, Elias Pettersson got his second of the night to bring the Canucks within one and then Filip Hronek got his first of the year on the power play as the game would be tied 5-5. Then, Sam Bennett got his fourth to put Florida back in the lead and then Seth Jones scored his second of the night as the Panthers re-took the two goal lead. Brad Marchand would then go on to score a shorthanded, empty net goal, his 13th of the year, as the Panthers fought back to get the 8-5 victory over the Canucks.
Los Angeles Kings v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET
- In Washington, the Capitals hosted the Kings for the lone time on the year and in the first the Caps took the 1-0 lead when Matt Roy got his first of the year. In the second, Washington took the 2-0 lead when Alex Ovechkin got his sixth of the year but then Anze Kopitar scored a power play goal, his third. In the scoreless third, the Capitals held on to down the Kings 2-1.
Montreal Canadiens v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 730p ET
- In Columbus, the Blue Jackets welcomed the Canadiens back to the Buckeye State and in the first Columbus took the 1-0 lead when Zach Werenski scored his fifth of the year. In the second, Montréal evened the score with Oliver Kapanen’s seventh but then the Jackets re-took the lead with Adam Fantilli’s sixth of the year. Columbus then went up a pair when Dmitri Voronkov got his eighth on the power play. In the third, Montréal got within a goal with Josh Anderson’s third and then Lane Hutson’s second of the year evened the score at 3-3. Kirill Marchenko then scored the game winner in the shootout as the Blue Jackets down the Canadiens 4-3.
