Looking to Make an Impact
Entering their inaugural season, the Seattle Torrent will look to make an immediate impact, and they’ve built through both the expansion process and in free agency a very solid and capable roster of securing a playoff spot. With players like Hilary Knight, Alex Carpenter, Natalie Snodgrass, Cayla Barnes, Corinne Schroeder and Carly Jackson, the Torrent have set themselves up with a solid leadership group as well.
In their debut season, the Seattle Torrent likely won’t be immediate favorites for a championship, but they have the pieces in place to be competitive, entertaining, and to lay the groundwork for sustained success. If they can combine their star power, new market excitement, and smart roster construction, they could surprise some opponents and build momentum for future seasons. The real value this year comes in establishing a culture, building a fanbase, and signaling that Seattle is serious about being a contender in the PWHL.
