- The Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues made a minor trade.
- The Capitals acquired defenseman Corey Schueneman.
- The Blues acquired defenseman Calle Rosen.
- The NHL announced that they have named Anaheim Ducks goaltender Lukas Dostal First Star of the Week.
- Drake Batherson (OTT) and Philipp Kurashev (SJ) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.
- The National Hockey League announced that the 2027 NHL Stadium Series presented by Navy Federal Credit Union will be held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on February 20, 2027. The Dallas Stars will be the home team against an opponent that is to be announced at a later date.
- This will be the second outdoor game for the Stars.

Pittsburgh Penguins v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 730p ET
- In Toronto, the Maple Leafs aim to knock off the Penguins in their first matchup of the season. In the first, Pittsburgh went up 1-0 with Erik Karlsson’s first of the year and then Ben Kindel put the Penguins up 2-0 with his fourth of the year. In the second, Ben Kindel scored on the Pittsburgh man-advantage to give the Pens the 3-0 lead. In the third, Auston Matthews scored his seventh to put Toronto on the board and then William Nylander got a pair of goals to give the Maple Leafs the lead. Then, Bobby McMann scored his third of the year as the Maple Leafs score four answered to stun the Penguins 4-3.
Edmonton Oilers v. St. Louis Blues – 830p ET
- In St. Louis, the Blues hosted the Oilers for their first matchup on the season and in the first Edmonton went up 1-0 with a Jack Roslovic power play goal, his third goal on the year. In the second, Andrew Mangiapane scored his fourth to give the Oilers the 2-0 lead but then Dalibor Dvorsky scored his first career NHL goal on the man-advantage to put St. Louis on the board. Robert Thomas then scored his second goal of the year to tie the game. In the third, Pius Suter scored his fifth of the year to give the Blues the 3-2 win over the Oilers.
Vancouver Canucks v. Nashville Predators – 830p ET
- In Nashville, the Predators welcomed the Canucks back to Music City USA for their second and final visit during the season. In the first, Filip Forsberg scored his sixth of the year to give Nashville the 1-0 lead but then Evander Kane scored his first goal as a Vancouver Canuck to tie the game. In the second, Jake DeBrusk scored on the Canucks power play to give Vancouver the 2-1 lead and then Brock Boeser scored his fifth as Vancouver took the two goal lead. Erik Haula then scored on the power play as the Predators came within a goal with his third goal of the year. In the third, Evander Kane scored his second of the night as the Canucks re-took the two goal lead but then Nashville came within a goal once more when Michael Bunting scored his fourth of the year. Then, Nick Blankenburg scored a power play goal as the Predators made it a 4-4 game. In overtime, Brock Boeser scored his second goal of the game as the Canucks get the 5-4 win over the Predators.
