- The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that forward Rickard Rakell has been placed on Injured Reserve.
- Rakell underwent successful on his left hand, and is expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks.
- The Washington Capitals announced that they have fired assistant coach Mitch Love after an investigation had been completed by the NHL.
- The Capitals move comes after a report from Frank Seravalli that stated that the NHL had suspended Love for the entirety of the 2025-26 season.
- The NHL was investigating Love after a victim reported allegations of domestic abuse directly to the NHL and teams Love interviewed with over the summer for head coaching vacancies.

Colorado Avalanche v. New Jersey Devils – 1p ET
- In New Jersey, the Devils played host to the Colorado Avalanche for an early afternoon matinee, and in the first period, Arseny Gritsyuk and Jack Hughes would score to give the Devils the 2-0 lead, but goals from Valeri Nichushkin and Nathan MacKinnon would tie the game at two for the Avalanche. In the second period, Connor Brown would score his 5th of the season to give the Devils the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period, Brock Nelson would score for the Avalanche to tie the game at three to force overtime. In the extra frame, Jack Hughes would net his second of the game to give the Devils the 4-3 overtime victory over the Avalanche.
Vegas Golden Knights v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 5p ET
- In Tampa Bay, the Vegas Golden Knights would come to town to face off with the Lightning, and in the first period, Brandon Hagel would strike first for the Lightning to take the 1-0 lead, but a tally from William Karlsson would tie the game at one for the Knights. Then after a scoreless second and third period, this game would require extra time to decide a winner. In the extra frame, Nikita Kucherov would score 32 seconds in to give the Lightning the 2-1 overtime victory over the Golden Knights.
San Jose Sharks v. Minnesota Wild – 6p ET
- In Minnesota, the Wild would play host to the San Jose Sharks, and in the first period, William Eklund would score on the powerplay and Michael Misa would score his first career NHL goal to give the Sharks the 2-0 lead, but goals from Marcus Johansson (PPG) and Marco Rossi would score to tie the game at two for the Wild. In the second period, Eklund would score his second of the game and Ryan Reaves would score to give the Sharks the 4-2 lead. Then in the third period, Tyler Toffoli would score on the powerplay for the Sharks, but goals from Ryan Hartman (PPG), Zeev Buium, and Joel Eriksson Ek would tie the game at 5 for the Wild to force overtime. In the extra frame, Macklin Celebrini would score to give the Sharks the 6-5 overtime victory over the Wild.
Utah Mammoth v. Winnipeg Jets – 6p ET
- In Winnipeg, the Jets rock their Heritage Blues as they play host to the Utah Mammoth, and after a scoreless first period, Dylan DeMelo would score to give the Jets the 1-0 lead, but goals from Mikhail Sergachev (PPG) and Michael Carcone would give the Mammoth the 2-1 lead. However, Mark Scheifele would score on the powerplay to tie the game at 2 for the Jets. Then in the third period, Dylan Guenther would net his fifth of the season to give the Mammoth the 3-2 victory over the Jets.

Los Angeles Kings v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p ET
- In Chicago, the Blackhawks played host to the Los Angeles Kings, and in the first period, Connor Bedard would score to give the Blackhawks the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Alex Laferriere and Kevin Fiala would score to give the Kings the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Joel Armia would score an empty netter to give the Kings the 3-1 victory over the Blackhawks.
Dallas Stars v. Nashville Predators – 7p ET
- In Nashville, the Dallas Stars would come to town to face the Predators, and in the first period, Jonathan Marchessault would score on the powerplay to give the Predators the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Spencer Stastney would score to give the Predators the two goal lead, but goals from Oskar Bäck (first career NHL goal) and Wyatt Johnston would tie the game at two for the Stars. Then in the third period, Mikko Rantanen would strike on the powerplay to give the Stars the 3-2 victory over the Predators.
New York Rangers v. Calgary Flames – 8p ET
- In Calgary, the Flames would face off with the New York Rangers, and in the first period, Nazem Kadri and Kevin Bahl would score to give the Flames the 2-0 lead, but Noah Liba would score his first career NHL goal to get the Rangers on the board and back within one. In the second period, Yegor Sharangovich would score his first of the season to retake the two goal lead for the Flames. Then in the third period, Blake Coleman would score shorthanded and an even strength goal to give the Flames the 5-1 victory over the Rangers.
