Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

New York Islanders v. Philadelphia Flyers – 1230p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Flyers hosted the Islanders for a matinee matchup and in the first New York took the 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal by Simon Holstrom, his second goal on the year.  In the second, Anthony Duclair’s second on the year gave the Isles the 2-0 lead but then Christian Dvorak netted his second of the year to get the Flyers on the board.  In the third, Trevor Zegras got his first on the year to tie the game but then Maxim Tsyplakov netted his first to give New York the lead back.  Then, Trevor Zegras scored on the power play as the Flyers tied the contest 3-3.  Following the overtime session where in the shootout, Matvei Michkov scored the game winner as the Flyers down the Islanders 4-3.

Colorado Avalanche v. Boston Bruins – 3p ET

  • In Boston, the Avalanche made their lone trip to Beantown to take on the Bruins.  In the first, Artturi Lehkonen netted his third of the year to give Colorado the 1-0 lead but then Viktor Arvidsson scored his first as the B’s tied the contest.  Then, Michael Eyssimont netted his second of the year as Boston took the 2-1 lead.  In the second, Morgan Geekie struck for his sixth of the year to tie the game at 2 all.  In the third, Artturi Lehkonen got his second of the game as the Bruins downed the Avalanche 3-2.

Anaheim Ducks v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 5p ET

  • In Tampa, the Ducks faced off against the Lightning and in the first Jake Guentzel scored his third of the year to put Tampa Bay up 1-0.  In the second, Anaheim tied the contest with Jacob Trouba’s second of the year but then Tampa got a pair of goals when Jake Guentzel scored his second of the game and then Anthony Cirelli scored his fourth of the year.  In the third, Ryan Poehling got his first of the year to bring the Ducks within a goal and then Troy Terry’s third ended up tying the contest for Anaheim.  Anthony Cirelli then netted the game winner on the man-advantage as the Lightning struck down the Ducks 4-3

Buffalo Sabres v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 5p ET

  • In Toronto, the Sabres made the trip up to The Six to take on the Maple Leafs.  In the first, Buffalo took the 1-0 lead with Tage Thompson’s third and then Nicholas Robertson scored his first as the Maple Leafs evened the ice.  In the second, Matias Maccelli struck his second to put the Leafs up 2-1 but then Bowen Byram’s first tied the game for the Sabres.  In the third, Tage Thompson gave Buffalo the lead back with a goal on the man-advantage but then Dakota Joshua’s second tied the game for Toronto.  In overtime, John Tavares got his fifth as the Maple Leafs beat the Sabres 4-3.

Vegas Golden Knights v. Florida Panthers – 6p ET

  • In South Florida, the Panthers welcomed the Golden Knights and in the first Sam Reinhart got his fourth of the year to give Florida the 1-0 lead.  After a scoreless second, Cole Schwindt got his first and then A.J. Greer got his third as the Panthers shutout the Golden Knights 3-0.

Utah Mammoth v. Minnesota Wild – 6p ET

  • In Minnesota, the Wild hosted the Mammoth in the State of Hockey and in the first Utah got a pair of goals to jump out to the 2-0 lead and then Nick Schmaltz got his sixth as the Mammoth went up 3-0.  Marcus Johansson then got his second of the year to put Minnesota on the board.  In the second, Marcus Johannson scored on the man-advantage to bring the Wild within a goal.  In the third, JJ Peterka got his third of the year to put Utah back up a pair and then Nick Schmaltz scored his second of the night.  John Marino then got his first of the year with an empty netter as the Mammoth froze out the Wild for the 6-2 win.

St. Louis Blues v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET

  • In the Motor City, the Red Wings welcomed St. Louis back to Hockeytown for their lone visit this year and in the first St. Louos took the 1-0 lead when Jordan Kyrou scored a power play goal, his second goal of the year and then the Blues took the 2-0 lead when Jake Neighbours struck with his fifth.  In the second, St. Louis took the 3-0 lead when Pavel Buchnevich scored on the man-advantage and then Jake Neighbours scored his second of the night as the Blues took the commanding 4-0 lead.  Then Jonathan Berggren scored on the man-advantage to put Detroit on the board and then Emmitt Finnie struck with his fourth to bring the Wings within two.  J.T. Compher then went on to score his second as Detroit got within a goal.  In the third, Alex DeBrincat scored his first of the season to tie the game for the Red Wings and then Simon Edvinsson scored his second as Detroit took the lead.  Simon Edvinsson would then hit the empty net as the Red Wings scored six unanswered as they shocked the Blues 6-4.

Columbus Blue Jackets v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

  • In Pittsburgh, the Penguins welcome the Blue Jackets back to the Steel City and in the first Ryan Shea gave the Penguins the 1-0 and then Charlie Coyle ties the game for Columbus.  Then, Anthony Mantha gave Pittsburgh the lead back.  In the second, the Blue Jackets tied the contest when Dmitri Voronkov scored his fourth of the year.  In the third, Yegor Chinakov scored his first to give Columbus the lead and then Dmitri Voronkov scored his second of the night to put the Jackets up 4-2.  Then, Kris Letang scored his first of the year on the man-advantage to bring Pittsburgh within a goal and then Bryan Rust tied the game with his first of the year.  After a scoreless overtime, Kirill Marchenko scored the game winner in the shootout as the Blue Jackets down the Penguins 5-4

Ottawa Senators v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET

  • In Washington, the Capitals welcome the Senators and in the first, Dylan Cozens scored his fifth of the year to give Ottawa the 1-0 lead.  In the second, Shane Pinto scored his eighth goal of the year to give the Sens the 2-0 lead and then Dylan Cozens scored on the power play to give Ottawa the 3-0 lead.  Then, Nick Cousins scored his first of the year as the Senators took the 4-0 lead.  In the third, Drake Batherson scored his first of the year on the man-advantage to give Ottawa the 5-0 but then Washington got on the board when Trevor van Riemsdyk scored his first of the year.  Ottawa then re-took the five goal lead when Thomas Chabot scored then Sens third power play goal of the night and then Drake Batherson scored his second goal of the evening as the Senators blows out the Capitals 7-1

Montreal Canadiens v. Vancouver Canucks – 7p ET

  • In Vancouver, the Canucks hosted the Canadiens and in the first Elias Pettersson scored his second on the year to put Vancouver up 1-0.  In the second, Jake DeBrusk scored his second, on the Canucks man-advantage, to give Vancouver the 2-0 lead but then Montréal got on the board with Nick Suzuki’s power play goal, his second goal of the year.  In the third, the Habs tied the game when Juraj Slafkovský tied the game with a power play goal, his fourth of the year, and then Montréal took the lead with Mike Matheson’s third of the year. The Canadiens then took the two goal lead when Ivan Demidov scored his second of the year but then Vancouver’s Conor Garland got his third but Montréal held on as the Canadiens escaped with the 4-3 win over the Canucks. 

Los Angeles Kings v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

  • In Nashville, the Predators hosted the Kings and in the first Los Angeles took the 1-0 lead when Adrian Kempe scored his fifth but then Nashville tied the contest when Ryan O’Reilly scored his fourth of the year.  In the second, the Preds took the lead when Filip Forsberg scored his third of the year but then Los Angeles tied the game when Joel Armia got his first of the year.  Then, Corey Perry scored his second to put the Kings back in the lead but Cole Smith netted his third as the Preds evened the score.  In the third, Los Angeles re-took the lead when Trevor Moore scored his third but then Ryan O’Reilly got his second of the night as Nashville tied the game once more.  Following a scoreless overtime frame, Ozzy Wiesblatt got the game winner in the shootout as the Predators knock off the Kings 5-4.

Carolina Hurricanes v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET

  • In Dallas, the Hurricanes made the trip to the Lone Star state to take on the Stars and in the first Carolina took the 1-0 lead when Jackson Blake scored his second of the year and then Sebastian Aho’s fourth put the Canes up 2-0.  In the second, Dallas got on the board when Miro Heiskanen scored his first of the year and then Sam Steel scored his first of the year on the power play.  In the third, Miro Heiskanen scored on the man-advantage as the Stars come back and down the Hurricanes 3-2.
