Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Chicago Blackhawks v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 645p ET

  • In Tampa, the Blackhawks visited the Lightning and in the first, Frank Nazar scored his fourth goal of the year on the Chicago man advantage to take the 1-0 lead.  In the second, Jake Guentzel scored his second of the year as Tampa tied the contest but then a Ryan Donato goal, his fourth of the year, put Chicago back in the lead.  Then, the Bolts tied the game once more when Ryan McDonagh scored his third of the year.  In the third, Ryan Donato scored his fifth on the year as the Blackhawks down the Lightning 3-2. 

Anaheim Ducks v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET

  • In Beantown, Boston welcomes Anaheim for the lone time on the year and in the first Casey Mittlestadt got his third of the year to put the Bruins up 1-0 but then Drew Helleson scored his second of the year to tie the game for the Ducks.  In the second, Boston re-took the lead when Morgan Geekie scored his fourth of the year but then Cutter Gauthier scored his fifth as the Ducks tied the contest.  Then, Anaheim took the 3-2 lead when Jacob Trouba scored his first of the year but then the B’s evened it up when Mason Lohrei scored his first on the power play.  In the third, Anaheim went up 4-3 with Mikael Granlund’s power play goal, his first score on the year and then Sam Colangelo went on to score his first of the year to put the Ducks up 5-3.  Then, a power play goal from David Pastrnak, his fifth goal on the year, brings Boston within a goal and then Morgan Geekie’s second of the night ties the game for the B’s.  Troy Terry then finds the net with his second of the year to put Anaheim back in the lead and then Mikael Granlund scored an empty net goal as the Ducks down the Bruins 7-5.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET

  • In Ottawa, the Flyers make the trek to the Canadian capital to take on the Senators and in the first Tyson Foerster scored his third of the year to put Philly up 1-0 but then Michael Amadio scored his first of the year to tie the game for the Sens.  In the second, Ottawa took the lead with Olle Lycksell’s first of the year.  With no goals in the third, the Senators edged out the Flyers 2-1.

Pittsburgh Penguins v. Florida Panthers – 7p ET

  • In South Florida, the Panthers hosted the Penguins and in the first, Sidney Crosby scored on the Pittsburgh power play to take the 1-0 lead for the Pens.  In the second, Rikard Rakell scored his third of the year to put Pittsburgh up 2-0 but then Brad Marchand scored a power play goal to put Florida on the board.  Then, Ben Kindel scored his second as Pittsburgh re-took the two goal lead.  In the third, Sam Reinhart scored on the man-advantage to bring Florida within a goal but then Connor Dewar scored his third to give Pittsburgh the two goal lead back.  Then, Brad Marchand scored his second of the night to bring Florida within a goal once more but Sidney Crosby closed out the contest with a power play goal, his second goal of the night, as the Penguins defeated the Panthers 5-3.

Detroit Red Wings v. New York Islanders – 7p ET

  • In Long Island, the Islanders hosted the Red Wings and in the first New York jumped out to the 1-0 lead when Tony DeAngelo netted his first of the year and then a goal from Emil Heineman, his fourth, put the Isles up 2-0.  In the second, New York took the 3-0 lead when Jean-Gabriel Pageau struck with his second of the year and then Kyle Palmieri scored his third of the year to give the Isles the 4-0 lead.  Then, a Mathew Barzal goal gave New York the commanding 5-0 lead.  In the third, Detroit finally got on the board with a power play goal from Dylan Larkin, his sixth goal on the year, but then Emil Heineman got his second to put the Isles back up but five.  Then, Simon Holmstrom got his first of the year to put New York up 7-1 but then Jonatan Berggren scored his first.  However, a Detroit comeback fell far short as the Islanders soundly defeated the Red Wings 7-2.

San Jose Sharks v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • In New York City, the Rangers hosted the Sharks and in the first San Jose took the 1-0 lead when Adam Gaudette scored his third of the year and then Macklin Celebrini got his third of the year on the Sharks power play to put San Jose up 2-0.  New York then got on the board when Taylor Raddysh struck with his second of the year but then Macklin Celebrini scored his second of the night to put the Sharks up two.  In the second, the Blueshirts got a pair when Mika Zibanejad scored a power play goal, his thirdgoal of the year, and then Juuso Parssinen struck with his second of the year.  New York then took their first lead of the night when Taylor Raddysh scored his second of the night, a shorthanded goal, but then Macklin Celebrini secured a hat trick as the Sharks evened the score.  In the third, Will Smith scored his first of the year to give the Sharks the 5-4 lead but Taylor Raddysh completed a hat trick of his own to tie the game for New York.  In overtime, Will Smith nailed the game winner as the Sharks defeated the Rangers 6-5.

Utah Mammoth v. St. Louis Blues – 8p ET

  • In the Gateway City, St. Louis welcomes Utah and in the first, Ian Cole scored his first of the year to put Utah up 1-0 and then Logan Cooley went on to score three straight goals for the natural hat trick as the Mammoth took the 4-0 lead.  In the second, St. Louis got a pair of goals when Pius Suter scored his third and then Pavel Buchnevich scored a power play goal, his first on the year, but then Clayton Keller scored his third of the year to put the Mammoth back up three goals.  In the third, Nathan Walker’s first of the year cuts the Utha lead to two and then Philip Broberg’s first of the year brings the Blues within a goal.  Nick Schmaltz then scored a power play goal, his fifth goal on the year, as Utah went back up by two and then Clayton Keller scored his second of the night on an empty netter as the Mammoth cruise by the Blues 7-4.

Vancouver Canucks v. Nashville Predators – 8p ET

  • In Nashville, the Predators welcomed the Canucks back to Music City USA and after a scoreless first, Ryan O’Reilly scored a shorthanded goal to put Nashville up 1-0 but then Vancouver got on the board when Max Sasson scored his third of the year.  In the third, Cole Smith scored his second of the year as the Predators down the Canucks 2-1.

Seattle Kraken v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET

  • In Winnipeg, the Jets faced off against the Kraken and following a scoreless first, Seattle took the 1-0 lead when Jaden Schwartz scored his third.  In the third, Seattle scored a pair of empty netters when Jaden Schwartz got his second of the night and Jordan Eberle scored his second as the Kraken get the shutout over the Jets 3-0.
