Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps
Minnesota Wild v. New Jersey Devils – 7p ET
- In the Garden State, the Devils welcome the Wild for their lone visit on the year and in the first Paul Cotter struck with his first of the year to put New Jersey up 1-0. In the second, Brenden Dillon scored his second of the year to give the Devs the 2-0 lead. In the third, Arseny Gritsyuk scored his first NHL goal on the power play to put New Jersey up 3-0 but then Matt Boldy got Minnesota on the board with his fifth of the year. Then, Jesper Bratt shut the door with an empty net goal, his fourth goal on the year, as the Devils soundly defeated the Wild 4-1.
Detroit Red Wings v. Buffalo Sabres – 730p ET
- In Buffalo, the Red Wings stopped by Western New York to take on the Sabres. Following a scoreless first, J.T. Compher scored his first goal on the year to put Detroit up 1-0 but then Jason Zucker scored his fourth on the year to tie the game for Buffalo. Tyson Kozak then struck with his second of the year to give the Sabres the lead but then Emmitt Finnie scored his third of the year to tie the game for the Wings. In the third, Jack Quinn scored a power play goal, his third of the year to put Buffalo in the lead once more and then Josh Doan scored his fourth as the Sabres would go on to double up the Red Wings 4-2.
Montreal Canadiens v. Calgary Flames – 830p ET
- In Calgary, the Flames welcomed the Canadiens back to the Saddledome and in the first Montréal took the 1-0 lead with Zack Bolduc’s fourth of the year on the man advantage. Following a scoreless second, Adam Klapka scored his first of the season to tie the game for Calgary. In the overtime session, Mike Matheson scored his second of the year as the Canadiens downed the Flames 2-1.
