    • The Capitals removed defenseman Dylan McIlrath from IR.
    • The Capitals then placed forward Pierre-Luc Dubois on to IR.
    • The Capitals recalled forward Ethen Frank from Hershey.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET

  • In Detroit, the Tampa Bay Lightning would come to town to take on the Red Wings, and in the first period, Axel Sandin-Pellikka would net his first career NHL goal to give the Wings the 1-0 lead. After a scoreless second period, J.J. Moser would net his first as a Lightning to tie the game at one. Then in the extra frame, Dylan Larkin would score to give the Red Wings the 2-1 overtime victory over the Lightning.

Minnesota Wild v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET

  • In Washington, the Capitals debuted their new Screaming Eagle jerseys against the Minnesota Wild, and in the first period, Dylan Strome would net his first of the season to give the Capitals the 1-0 lead. In the second period, former Capital Marcus Johansson would score to tie the game at one for the Wild, but 31 seconds later, Aliaksei Protas would score to retake the lead for the Capitals. Then in the third period, Alex Ovechkin would strike for his first of the season, and 898th career NHL goal, Strome would net his second of the game, and Tom Wilson would deflect a shot on the powerplay to score and give the Capitals the 5-1 victory over the Wild.

Vancouver Canucks v. Chicago Blackhawks – 830p ET

  • In Chicago, the Blackhawks would play host to the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period, Ryan Donato (PPG) and Tyler Bertuzzi would score to give the Blackhawks the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Jake DeBrusk (PPG) and Max Sasson would score to tie the game at two. Then after a scoreless third period and 5-minute overtime, it would be Brock Boeser with the shootout winner to give the Canucks the 3-2 victory over the Blackhawks.
