  • The Montreal Canadiens announced that they have re-signed defenseman Lane Hutson.
    • Hutson signed an 8 year deal with a AAV of $8.85 million per season.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Colorado Avalanche v. Buffalo Sabres – 1230p ET

  • In Buffalo, the Sabres welcomed the Avalanche for matinee action.  Colorado would get on the board thanks to a Nathan MacKinnon backhander, his third goal of the season.  Then, Buffalo gets on the board with a  Tage Thompson wrist shot.  In the second, Cale Makar’s first of the year gave Colorado the lead back and then Nathan MacKinnon scored his fourth of the year as the Avs get the 3-1 victory after a scoreless third.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Boston Bruins – 1p ET

  • In Beantown, the Bruins host Tampa Bay and in the first Anthony Cirelli scored his first of the year with a tip-in shot.  Then, Tampa Bay took the 2-0 lead with a wrist shot from Anthony Cirelli, his second of the contest.  In the second, Tampa went up 3-0 when Yanni Gourde netted his second of the year but then Boston got on the scoresheet when Casey Mittelstadt struck with his second of the year.  Pontus Holmberg’s first on the season then gave the Bolts the three goal lead back but then the Bruins came with a pair once more when Jordan Harris got his first of the season.  Morgan Geekie would then go on to score his second of the year as the Bruins end the second period coming within a goal of the Lightning.  Depsite a scoreless third period, the Lightning escapes with a 4-3 victory over the Bruins.

 

Nashville Predators v. Ottawa Senators – 1p ET

  • In Ottawa, the Senators welcomed the Predators for Canadian Thanksgiving Day action for the lone time on the year.  Nashville opened the scoring midway through the second period when Jonathan Marchessault got his first of the year.  In the third, Ryan O”Reilly scored his second of the year to put the Preds up 2-0, but then Ottawa got on the board late in the period when RidlyGreig scored his first of the year on the Sens man advantage.  However, Jonathan Marchessault scored an empty netter, his second goal of the afternoon, and then Cole Smith puts an end to the contest with an empty netter of his own, his first goal of the year, as the Predators defeat the Senators 4-1.

Winnipeg Jets v. New York Islanders – 1p ET

  • In Long Island, Winnipeg made their lone visit to take on the Islanders.  In the first, Winnipeg got on the board when Morgan Barron scored his second of the year on a backhanded shot and then Nino Niederreiter gets a goal on the Winnipeg power play.  In the second, New York got on the board when Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored his first of the year but then 17 seconds later, Winnipeg re-took the two goal lead with Logan Stanley’s first on the campaign.  Tanner Pearson’s first of the year then gave Winnipeg the three goal lead but New York answered when Emil Heineman got his first of the year.  In the third, Mark Scheifele’s third on the year lifts the Jets to a 5-2 victory over the Islanders.

 

Detroit Red Wings v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 2p ET

  • In an Original Six match-up in Toronto, arch-rivals meet up as the Maple Leafs hosted the Red Wings.  In the first, Dylan Larkin scored a goal on the Detroit man advantage late in the frame to put Detroit up 1-0.  Following a scoreless second, Detroit took the 2-0 lead in the third when James van Riemsdyk found the back of the net for his first of the year but the Toronto got on the board when Matthew Knies notched his first of the year.  Then, Calle Jarnkrok tied the contest for Toronto but then Mason Appleton went on to score his first on the year as the Red Wings escape with the 3-2 win over the Maple Leafs.

 

Florida Panthers v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Flyers welcome the two-time defending champs back to the City of Brotherly Love.  In the first, Tyson Foerster opend up the scoring with his first goal of the season to put Philadelphia up 1-0.  In the second, Sean Couturier scored his first of the year to give the Flyers the 2-0 lead but then Sam Reinhart would score a shorthanded goal, his second goal of the season, to put Florida within a goal.  In the third, Sam Bennett then scored a power play goal off a wrist shot to even the score at 2-2 but then Sean Couturier scored his second of the night to put Philadelphia back in the lead.  Then, Philadelphia got a pair of empty netters when Bobby Brink and Christian Dvorak scored as the Flyers upset the Panthers with the 5-2 win.

 

New Jersey Devils v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET

  • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets welcome the Devils to town and in the first Timo Meier gets New Jersey on the board with his second goal, coming on a Devils man-advantage.  In the second, Columbus evened the score when Kirill Marchenko scored his fourth but then New Jersey re-took the lead with a power play goal from Dawson Mercer, his first goal on the year.  In the third, Dawson Mercer scored his second of the year on an empty netter to put New Jersey up 3-1 but then Dmitri Voronkov scored his second of the year with 21 seconds left.  However, that late goal but Columbus would not be enough as the Devils held on to get the 3-2 win over the Blue Jackets.

 

St. Louis Blues v. Vancouver Canucks – 730p ET

  • In Vancouver, the Canucks host the Blues and in the first, Jimmy Snuggerud scored his first of the season to give St. Louis the 1-0 lead.  In the second, Brayden Schenn scored his first of the campaign to put the Blues up 2-0, but then Vancouver got on the scoresheet when Kiefer Sherwood notched his second of the season.  St. Louis would then re-take the two goal lead when Jimmy Snuggerud scored his second of the night on the Blues power play but then Vancouver got within a goal once more when Kiefer Sherwood got his second of the night off of a shorthanded goal.  Nathan Walker then scored his first of the year as St. Louis went up a pair once more.  In the third, Jake Neighbours scored an empty net goal as the Blues dominate the Canucks with the 5-2 win.

 

Los Angeles Kings v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET

  • In Minnesota, the Wild welcome the Kings back to the State of Hockey and in the first, Minnesota got on the board when Jared Spuregon scored a power play goal, his first goal of the year and then Kirill Kaprizov struck with another Minnesota power play goal, his third of the year, to make it a 2-0 Wild lead.  Matt Boldy then made it a 3-0 Minnesota lead when he also scored a power play goal, his third of the season.  In the third, Los Angeles got a pair of goals when Kevin Fiala netted his second of the year followed by Quinton Byfield scoring a power play goal to bring the Kings within a goal.  Late in the period, Adrian Kempe scored his second of the contest to tie the contest at 3-3.  Marco Rossi then scored the lone goal in the fourth round of the shootout as Wild down the Kings 4-3.

 

Utah Mammoth v. Chicago Blackhawks – 830p ET

  • In Chicago, the Blackhawks host the Mammoth in the Windy City and after a scoreless first, Chicago would take the 1-0 lead with Ilya Mikheyev’s first goal of the season.  In the third, JJ Peterka gets the Mammoth on the board with his first on the season but then Andre Burakovsky’s second of the year scored on the Blackhawks man advantage to put Chicago up 2-1 and then Ilya Mikheyev seals the game as the Blackhawks get the 3-1 win over the Mammoth.
