The Preseason has come to a close and the Washington Capitals have announced their 2025-26 Opening Night Roster.

Before announcing their opening night roster, the Capitals sent forward Ivan Miroshnichenko to the Hershey Bears, and once forward Ethen Frank and goaltender Clay Stevenson cleared waivers, they were also assigned to Hershey. Defenseman Dylan McIlrath was placed on injured reserve due to a lower body injury.
For the Capitals, they will carry 13 forwards, 8 defensemen, and 2 goaltenders. The projected lineup looks as follows:
