Caps Reduce Roster

Six days into training camp, and with one preseason game played, the Washington Capitals made their first round of roster cuts.

The Capitals assigned to the Hershey Bears of the AHL forwards Grant Cruikshank, Justin Nachbaur, Dalton Smith, and Luke Toporowski, defensemen Nick Leiverman and Jon McDonald, and goaltender Seth Eisele. All of the players sent down to Hershey are all on AHL contracts.

The Capitals also reassigned back to their Junior clubs forwards Miroslav Satan (Saginaw Spirit -OHL) and Maxim Schafer (Chicoutimi Saguenéens – QMJHL).

The Capitals have sessions both today and Wednesday before having their next preseason game in Hershey, PA when they host the Philadelphia Flyers.
