2025-26 Preview
What Happens with Kaprizov?
All-Star forward Kirill Kaprizov enters the 2025-26 season in the final year of his contract with the Minnesota Wild. Obviously, the Wild would love to re-sign him to a long term deal, and continue to have Kaprizov as the center piece of their organization.
For Kaprizov, one has to wonder that he is seeing what the Wild will do this upcoming season before deciding whether or not he is going to re-sign with the Wild or test free agency. For the Wild their hopes of adding depth players like Vladimir Tarasenko and Nico Sturm along with youthful players like forward Danila Yurov and defenseman Zeev Buium, will breathe new life into the team as they battle in a very tough and competitive Central Division with the hopes of convincing Kaprizov to re-sign with the team.

Can Minnesota Surprise in the Central?
Going into the 2025-26 season, the Wild are going to have to contend with the fact that the heavy hitters are going to be once again the Dallas Stars, Colorado Avalanche, and Winnipeg Jets. The St. Louis Blues and Utah Mammoth are both going to be looking to make the playoffs this season too, so the Wild are going to have to get a good start to the season, and maintain a good consistency throughout.
Not including the Pacific Division, the Wild will need to hope for a strong 4th or 3rd place finish in the Central Division. A fourth place finish in the Central could guarantee them a Wild Card spot, but if there is any season to surprise anyone in the Central, it has to be this season.
