News
- In the PWHL, the League along with the Ilitch Family and the City of Detroit announced that expansion is coming.
- Detroit will become the home to one of up to 4 new expansion teams in the PWHL.
- The PWHL also announced that the 2026 PWHL Draft will be held in Detroit on June 17th, 2026 at the Fox Theatre.

Montreal Canadiens v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET – Game 1
- In Buffalo, the last series of the second round began as the Sabres hosted the Canadiens. In the first, Buffalo took the 1-0 lead with Josh Doan’s second and then Ryan McLeod scored a power play goal, his first of the postseason, to put the Sabres up 2-0. Then Nick Suzuki scored a power play goal of his own to put Montreal on the board. In the second, Jordan Greenway scored his first of the postseason to give Buffalo the two goal lead back and then Bowen Byram scored a power play goal, his fourth goal of the postseason, to give the Sabres the 4-1 lead. Then, Kirby Dach netted his third of the postseason for the Habs to cut the Buffalo lead to two. With no scoring in the third, the Sabres went on to take Game 1 with the 4-2 win over the Canadiens.
