- The NHL announced the finalists for the Vezina Trophy.
- The finalists are Ilya Sorokin (NYI), Jeremy Swayman (BOS), and Andrei Vasilevskiy (TB).
- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Dallas Stars forward Jamie Benn.
- Benn would be fined $2,604.17 for cross checking Minnesota Wild forward Ryan Hartman during Game 5 on Tuesday, April 28th.
- The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

Montreal Canadiens v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET – Game 5
- In Tampa Bay, both squads look to take the 3-2 series lead and in the first Montreal took the 1-0 lead with Brendan Gallagher’s first of the postseason. In the second, Tampa Bay tied the game with Dominic James first career NHL postseason goal but then Montreal tied the game with Kirby Dach’s second of the postseason. Then, Jake Guentzel scored his second of the postseason to tie the game 2-2. In the third, Alexandre Texier scored the game winner with his second of the postseason to give the Canadiens the 3-2 win and series lead over the Lightning.
Pittsburgh Penguins v. Philadelphia Flyers – 730p ET – Game 6
- In Philadelphia, the Flyers look to advance to the second round with a win over the Penguins and following a scoreless regulation, the game moved to overtime where Cam York scored the lone goal, his first goal of the postseason, to give the Flyers the 1-0 victory and 4-2 series win over the Penguins and advance to take on the Carolina Hurricanes.
