Boston Bruins v. Buffalo Sabres – 730p ET – Game 5
- In Buffalo, the Sabres will look to close out the series, but the Boston Bruins will look to force a Game 6, and in the first period, Rasmus Dahlin would open the scoring with a powerplay goal to give the Sabres the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Elias Lindholm would score to tie the game at one for the Bruins. Then after a scoreless third period, this game would require sudden death overtime, and David Pastrnak would score to give the Bruins the 2-1 overtime victory over the Sabres to cut their series deficit to one and force Game 6 on Friday.
Minnesota Wild v. Dallas Stars – 8p ET – Game 5
- In Dallas, the Stars would play host to the Minnesota Wild as both teams look to take the 3-2 series lead into Game 6, and in the first period, Mats Zuccarello would score his first of the series to give the Wild the 1-0 lead, but Miro Heiskanen would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Stars. Late in the second period, Matt Boldy would score on the powerplay to give the Wild the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Michael McCarron would score to give the Wild the 3-1 lead, but Jason Robertson would score his fifth of the playoffs and series to get the Stars back within one. However, Kirill Kaprizov would score the empty netter to give the Wild the 4-2 victory and the 3-2 series lead over the Stars.
