Toronto Sceptres v. Minnesota Frost – 130p ET (PWHL)

  • In Minnesota, the Frost would play host to the Toronto Sceptres for the lone PWHL game of the day, and in the first period, Savannah Harmon would score on the powerplay to give the Sceptres the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Daryl Watts would score her tenth of the season while on the powerplay to give the Sceptres the 2-0 victory over the Frost. Raygan Kirk would stop all 24 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Sceptres.

Los Angeles Kings v. Colorado Avalanche – 3p ET – Game 1

  • In Colorado for Game 1 of their First Round series, the Avalanche would play host to the Los Angeles Kings, and after a scoreless first period, Artturi Lehkonen would open the scoring for the Avalanche to take the 1-0 lead. Then in the third period, Logan O’Connor would score to give the Avalanche the 2-0 lead, and while Artemi Panarin would strike on the powerplay for the Kings, the Avalanche would go on to take Game 1 with the 2-1 victory.

Montreal Canadiens v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 545p ET – Game 1

  • In Tampa Bay, the Montreal Canadiens would come to town to battle the Lightning in Game 1 of their First Round series, and in the first period, Josh Anderson would score to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Darren Raddysh would score on the powerplay and Brandon Hagel would score to give the Lightning the 2-1 lead, but Juraj Slafkovsky would score on the powerplay to tie the game at 2 for the Canadiens. Then in the third period, Slafkovsky would score his second powerplay goal of the game to give the Canadiens the 3-2 lead, but Hagel would net his second of the game while on the powerplay to tie the game at three for the Lightning to force overtime. Then 1:22 into the extra frame, Slafkovsky would score his third powerplay goal to complete the hat trick and give the Canadiens the 4-3 overtime victory to take Game 1 over the Lightning.

Boston Bruins v. Buffalo Sabres – 730p ET – Game 1

  • In Buffalo, the Sabres make their return to the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2011 as they host the Boston Bruins, and in the first period, Morgan Geekie would score to give the Bruins the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Elias Lindholm would score to give the Bruins the 2-0 lead, but Tsge Thompson would score twice for the Sabres to get on the board and tie the game at 2, and then Mattias Samuelsson would score and Alex Tuch would score the empty netter to give the Sabres the 4-2 lead. David Pastrnak would score a late powerplay goals for the Bruins, but the Sabres would go on to defeat the Bruins 4-3 to take Game 1.
