With the 2026-27 season upon us we are excited to announce a bunch of changes that are coming to both TXHT Hockey and The Morphinominal Hockey Show.
TXHT Hockey
We are happy to announce that Russell Hartman is returning to TXHT Hockey and will be covering the New York Rangers and occasionally the Montreal Canadiens for the website. Russell previously wrote for TXHT from the 2018-19 season through the 2021-22 season.
Russell’s official writing return for TXHT will be on September 15th with the release of the New York Rangers 2026-27 Preview.
The TXHT Daily’s will be changing for the 2026-27 season. The past several seasons we have been doing mini game recaps for all of the games, and then the past two seasons we changed it for all games starting before 9p ET. The reason for the original change was so that way Michael and Dickson would not be staying up too late working on the Daily’s and allow them to get rest for the next day, as they both work full time jobs on top of doing TXHT. For the 2026-27 season the TXHT Daily’s will not be featuring mini game recaps anymore. Instead the Daily’s will feature scoreboards for both the NHL and PWHL. News and Notes, Today’s Games, and Noteworthy in Hockey will not be changing in the Daily’s.
The new version of the TXHT Daily will debut on September 29th at 9a ET.
TXHT will be improving Jersey Tracking for the 2026-27 season. This season we’ll be teaming up with Brett’s Notes (Facebook) for jersey icons that will be used in graphics that will be posted daily on TXHT social media accounts throughout the NHL and PWHL seasons.
The new TXHT Jersey Tracking graphics featuring Brett’s Notes jersey icons will debut on September 29th.
Lastly, Michael and Dickson will be working on other articles throughout the season. Dickson has been working on a project for the last 2 years, and will be debuting once ready. Another announcement will be made when Dickson’s project is nearing completion and ready for releasing.
Michael will be continuing going to Washington Capitals home games and shooting content at the games, but this season he will also be covering as many road games as possible as well.
The Morphinominal Hockey Show (TMHS)
We are proud to announce that Russell will also be joining TMHS as our new full time co-host. The objective for TMHS is to become a weekly show and with the addition of Russell, that will make having TMHS being a weekly show more possible.
TMHS co-host and producer Tohoru Masamune will be remaining with the show but he will be officially part time as a co-host due to his scheduling commitments during the 2026-27 season. Tohoru is still a very important part of TMHS and will still be involved with the show behind the scenes as well.

For the 2026-27 season, TMHS will be going exclusively on YouTube. For the past two seasons we have done both an audio version and a YouTube version, but this season it has been decided to do just YouTube for where we are releasing the show.
One of the reasons for this change is because Michael will be doing more editing for the show to be on YouTube to give it a more professional presentation when episodes are released. Also, this season we’re going to put in a more concentrated effort in creating Reels/TikToks/Shorts from the episodes to post on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and potentially Twitter.
With all of this extra work Michael is putting on himself, focusing on one platform for the show is the best way to make sure that things are getting published in a timely manner.
