The Washington Capitals have announced their 2026-27 preseason schedule.
Prior to the Capitals announcement, both the Philadelphia Flyers and Boston Bruins announced their preseason schedules, both of which featuring the Capitals as their opponent. Also, when the Capitals announced the schedule on their end, they did so by announcing that the Capitals home game against the Flyers will once again take place at the Giant Center in Hershey, PA on Monday, September 21st.
For the Capitals, they will begin their preseason in Boston on Sunday, September 20th, and take on the Bruins again on Friday, Sept. 25th. The Capitals will close out the preseason in Philadelphia on Saturday, Sept. 26th.
All 32 NHL teams will only play 4 preseason games as agreed upon in the new CBA, and the 2026-27 season will mark the first time since the 1993-94 season where the NHL will have an 84 game schedule.
Noting the other teams that are announcing their preseason schedules, expect the preseason to end on Saturday, September 26th with the 2026-27 regular season beginning no later than Tuesday, September 29th.
