Carolina Hurricanes v. Montreal Canadiens – 8p ET – Game 3
- In Montreal for Game 3, the Carolina Hurricanes look to go back to their dominate ways after evening the series against the Canadiens in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Final. In the first period, Shayne Gostisbehere would score to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead, but Mike Matheson would score to tie the game at one for the Canadiens. However, the Hurricanes would take the 2-1 lead into the first intermission thanks to Taylor Hall’s fourth goal of the playoffs. In the second period, Lane Hutson would score on the powerplay to tie the game at 2 for the Canadiens. Then after a scoreless third period, this game would require sudden death overtime for the second consecutive game. In the extra frame, Andrei Svechnikov would let off a blast to give the Hurricanes the 3-2 victory and the 2-1 series lead over the Canadiens.
