- The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that they have relieved Craig Berube of his duties as head coach.
- The PWHL announced that they are expanding to both Las Vegas and Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for the 2026-27 season.
- Las Vegas and Hamilton joins Detroit as three of the potentially 4 new franchises joining the PWHL.
- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have suspended Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb.
- McNabb has been suspended for one game for interference against Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Poehling during Game 5 on Tuesday, May 12th.
- McNabb will miss Game 6 on Thursday, May 14th.
- The NHL announced that New York Islanders defenseman Matthew Schaefer as the 2026 Calder Memorial Trophy Winner.
- Schaefer is the first defenseman to be the unanimous Rookie of the Year, and the youngest ever to claim an individual honor for NHL performance.
- Schaefer is the second unanimous Calder Trophy winner at any position, after forward Teemu Selanne (1992-93).

Minnesota Wild v. Colorado Avalanche – 8p ET – Game 5
- In Minnesota, the Avalanche can close out the series with a win over the Wild. In the first, Minnesota took the 1-0 lead when Marcus Johansson netted his fourth of the year and then Nick Foligno went on to score a pair of goals to put the Wild up 3-0. In the second, Colorado got on the board when Parker Kelly scored his second of the playoffs. In the third, Jack Drury’s second brought the Avs within a goal and then Nathan MacKinnon scored his seventh as Colorado tied the game. In overtime, Brett Kulak scores the game winner, his first goal of the postseason, as the Avalanche score four unanswered to defeat the Wild 4-3 and advance to the Western Conference Final.
