At the Washington Capitals home opener we were treated to some really great hockey as we would see Alex Ovechkin record two goals and two assists to lead the Capitals over the New York Rangers 5-1 and surpass Marcel Dionne for sole possession of fifth place in the all time goals list. However, that was not all that we were treated to at the home opener as the Capitals debuted a new drink in collaboration with Devil’s Backbone Brewing Company with the ALL CAPS Smash.
Announced on the morning of the home opener, The Caps and Devil’s Backbone introduced their collaboration that will be exclusive to Caps games at Capital One Arena until the conclusion of the 2021-22 season. The ALL CAPS Smash is also exclusive to purchase by can only too.
The 12oz can, that features the Capitals logo on it, is a ready to drink cocktail that is made with two shots of premium vodka and real grapefruit juice. The drink has a 10% ABV and is best served on ice or “by the ice”.
At the home opener both Kassie and I (Michael) got our hands on a couple cans of ALL CAPS Smash, and both of our responses to the drink were overwhelmingly positive. For one, it has a really smooth feel to it, and it doesn’t overwhelm you when drinking it. The fragrance is on point and very fruity. As for the taste, it has a very fresh grapefruit taste to it, and you don’t even notice the vodka.
Overall this is a fantastic drink, and highly recommended to try.
And as always, please make sure to drink responsibly. Kassie and I only had one can each, and that was perfect for us.
