Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Washington Capitals v. Boston Bruins – 1230p ET

  • In Boston, the Bruins would sport their Stadium Series jerseys as they play host to the Washington Capitals with playoff implications on the line, and after a scoreless first period, Pavel Zacha would score on the powerplay to open the scoring for the Bruins, but Aliaksei Protas would score to tie the game at one for the Capitals. Then in the third period, Viktor Arvidsson would score and Elias Lindholm would get the empty netter to give the Bruins the 3-1 victory over the Capitals.

New York Rangers v. New Jersey Devils – 3p ET

  • In New Jersey, the New York Rangers would cross the Hudson River to battle the Devils, and in the first period, Jesper Bratt would open the scoring for the Devils, but goals from Will Borgen and Vladislav Gavrikov would give the Rangers the 2-1 lead. However, Dawson Mercer would score on the powerplay to tie the game at two for the Devils. In the second period, Jack Hughes would score for the Devils while Will Cuylle would score for the Rangers for a 3-3 tie. Then in the third period, Nico Hischier would score on the powerplay and Hughes would score a pair of goals to complete the hat trick and give the Devils the 6-3 victory over the Rangers.

Nashville Predators v. Buffalo Sabres – 530p ET

  • In Buffalo, the retooled Sabres would play host to the Nashville Predators, and after a scoreless first period, Zachary L’Heureux would open the scoring for the Predators with his first of the season, but goals from Tage Thompson and Jason Zucker would give the Sabres the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, despite a late powerplay goal from Matthew Wood for Nashville, Josh Doan’s goal 16 seconds into the period would give the Sabres the eventual 3-2 victory over the Predators.

Philadelphia Flyers v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 530p ET

  • In Pittsburgh, the Penguins would play host to the Philadelphia Flyers for the Battle of Pennsylvania, and in the first period, Tommy Novak would score on the powerplay and Owen Tippett would score his 20th of the season for the Flyers for the 1-1 tie. In the second period, both teams would trade goals as Rickard Rakell and Erik Karlsson would score for the Penguins while Alex Bump would score his first career NHL goal and Denver Barkey would score for the Flyers for the 3-3 tie. Then after a scoreless third period and overtime, it would be Trevor Zegras with the shootout winner to give the Flyers the 4-3 victory over the Penguins 4-3.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET

  • In Toronto, the Tampa Bay Lightning would come to town to battle the Maple Leafs, and in the first period, Matias Maccelli would open the scoring for the Leafs, but goals from Ryan McDonagh, Jake Guentzel, the recently re-acquired Corey Perry, and Oliver Bjorkland (PPG) to give the Lightning the 4-1 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Nick Robertson would score for the Leafs, Brandon Hagel would score an empty net goal to give the Lightning the 5-2 victory over the Maple Leafs.

Utah Mammoth v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET

  • In Columbus, the Blue Jackets would face off with the Utah Mammoth, and in the first period Michael Carcone would score for the Mammoth and Damon Severson would score for the Jackets for the 1-1 tie. In the second period, Dylan Guenther would score for the Mammoth while Mathieu Olivier would score for the Jackets for the 2-2 tie. Then in the third period, Kevin Stenlund and Logan Cooley would score to give the Mammoth the 4-2 lead, but goals from Adam Fantilli and Mason Marchment would tie the game at 4 for the Jackets to force overtime. In the extra frame, Cooley would score his second of the game to give the Mammoth the 5-4 overtime victory over the Blue Jackets.

Vancouver Canucks v. Winnipeg Jets – 7p ET

  • In Winnipeg, the Jets would play host to the Vancouver Canucks, and in the first period, Linus Karlsson would score to give the Canucks the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Mark Scheifele would score his 30th of the season to tie the game at one for the Jets. Then in the third period, Liam Ohgren would score to give the Canucks the 2-1 lead, but Gabriel Vilardi would score on the powerplay to tie the game at 2 for the Jets to force overtime. In the extra frame, Josh Morrissey would score to give the Jets the 3-2 overtime victory over the Canucks.

Montreal Canadiens v. Los Angeles Kings – 7p ET

  • In Los Angeles, the Kings would play host to the Montreal Canadiens, and in the first period, Anze Kopitar would score to give the Kings the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Jake Evans and Juraj Slafkovsky would score to give the Canadiens the 2-1 lead, but Scott Laughton would score his first as a King to tie the game at 2. Then in the third period, Alex Laferriere would score to give the Kings the 3-2 lead, but a powerplay goal from Slafkovsky for his second of the game and a tally from Nick Suzuki would give the Canadiens the 4-3 victory over the Kings.
