News

  • The NHL announced that they have named Minnesota Wild forward Kirill Kaprizov First Star of the Week.
    • Nikita Kucherov (TB) and Lukas Dostal (ANA) would round out the rest of the Three Stars.

  • The PWHL announced that the Player of the Week went to Montreal Victoire F Maureen Murphy.
    • Murphy had 3 goals, one a game winning goal, in the two games that she played last week.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Utah Mammoth v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET

  • In Tampa Bay, the Lightning welcomed the Mammoth and following the scoreless first, Darren Raddysh scored his 14th on the power play to put Tampa Bay up 1-0.  In the third, Brandon Hagel scored his 26th on the power play as the Lightning shutout the Mammoth 2-0.

Boston Bruins v. New York Rangers – 7p ET

  • In New York City, it would be an Original Six match-up as arch-rivals renew a long standing rivalry as the Rangers hosted the Bruins in their final matchup of the season.  In the first, New York took the 1-0 lead with Will Cuylle’s 12th of the year but then Boston got on the board as Elias Lindholm scored his 10th of the year.  Then, the Blueshirts took the lead back as J.T. Miller scored his 14th of the year.  In the second, Boston tied the game as Elias Lindholm scored his second of the night and the B’s took the lead as Morgan Geekie scored his 29th of the year.  In overtime, Will Borgen scored his third as New York tied the game 3-3.  In overtime, Matthew Robertson scored the game winner, his fourth goal on the year, as the Rangers downed the Bruins 4-3.

New York Islanders v. Philadelphia Flyers – 7p ET

  • In Philadelphia, the Flyers hosted the Islanders and in the first New York took the 1-0 lead with a shorthanded goal from Jean-Gabriel Pageau, his ninth goal of the year.  In the second, Mathew Barzal scored his 12t to put the Isles up 2-0 and then Tony DeAngelo scored his fourth of the year on the power play to put New York up 3-0.  In the third, Jean-Gabriel Pageau scored his second of the night as the Islanders went on to shutout the Flyers 4-0.

Los Angeles Kings v. Columbus Blue Jackets – 7p ET (Postponed)

  • Tonight’s game between the Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena has been postponed due to severe winter weather in Columbus. The game is rescheduled for March 9th in Columbus and its start time will be announced when available.

 

Anaheim Ducks v. Edmonton Oilers – 830p ET

  • In Edmonton, the Ducks and Oilers faced off for the first time on the season and in the first Mikael Granlund scored a power play goal, his 10th goal of the year, to put Anaheim up 1-0 but then Edmonton tied the game with a power play goal from Zach Hyman, his 21st of the year.  In the second, Anaheim took the lead back with Alex Killorn’s sixth of the year but then Edmonton tied the game once more as Spencer Stastney scored his second of the year.  Then, Edmonton took the 3-2 lead as Mattias Ekholm scored his fourth of the year and then Darnell Nurse netted his seventh as the Oilers took the 4-2 lead.  Then, Edmonton took the 5-2 lead as Mattias Ekholm netted his second of the night but then Anaheim got within a pair when Mikael Granlund scored a power play goal, his second goal of the night.  In the third, Mikael Granlund completed the hat trick with a third power play goal on the night to bring Anaheim within a goal but then Connor McDavid scored an empty net goal to put Edmonton up two.  Then, Mattias Ekholm completed his own hat trick as the Oilers went on to defeat the Ducks 7-4.
