- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that they have fined Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos.
- Stamkos was fined $2,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct against Vegas Golden Knights defenseman Jeremy Lauzon on Saturday, January 17th.
- The Vegas Golden Knights and the Calgary Flames would make a trade.
- The Golden Knights acquired defenseman Rasmus Andersson.
- The Flames acquired defenseman Zach Whitecloud, prospect Abram Wiebe, a conditional 2027 1st Rd Pick, and a conditional 2028 2nd Rd Pick.
- In the PWHL, the Ottawa Charge and the Vancouver Goldeneyes would make a trade.
- The Charge acquired forwards Michela Cava and Brooke McQuigge, and defender Emma Greco.
- The Goldeneyes acquired forwards Mannon McMahon, Anna Meixner, and Anna Shokhina.

Tampa Bay Lightning v. Dallas Stars – 2p ET
- In Dallas, the Stars would play host to the Tampa Bay Lightning, and in the first period, Oskar Back would score to give the Stars the 1-0 lead, but Dominic James would score to tie the game at one for the Lightning. In the second period, Brandon Hagel and Jake Guentzel would score to give the Lightning the two goal lead. Then in the third period, Pontus Holmberg would score an empty netter to give the Lightning the 4-1 victory over the Stars.
Montreal Victoire v. New York Sirens – 2p ET (PWHL)
- At Capital One Arena in Washington DC for the PWHL Takeover Tour, the New York Sirens would play host to the Montreal Victoire, and in the first period, Kristýna Kaltounková would strike early on the powerplay for the Sirens to take the 1-0 lead, but a powerplay goal from Maggie Flaherty with 30.6 seconds left in the period would tie the game at one for the Victoire. In the second period, Anne Cherkowski would score her first career PWHL goal to give the Sirens the 2-1 lead. Then it would be a scoreless third period as the Kayle Osborne would keep the Victoire off the board to give the Sirens the 2-1 victory over the Victoire.
Ottawa Senators v. Detroit Red Wings – 5p ET
- In Detroit, the Red Wings would play host to the Ottawa Senators, and in the first period, Drake Batherson and Dylan Cozens (PPG) would score to give the Senators the 2-0 lead, but Axel Sandin-Pellikka would score on the powerplay to get the Wings on the board and back within one. In the second period, Lucas Raymond and James van Riemsdyk (PPG) would score to give the Wings the 3-2 lead, but a powerplay goal from Shane Pinto would tie the game at three for the Senators. Then after a scoreless third period, Alex DeBrincat would score his 26th of the season to give the Red Wings the 4-3 overtime victory over the Senators.
St. Louis Blues v. Edmonton Oilers – 8p ET
- In Edmonton, the St. Louis Blues would come to town to battle the Oilers, and in the first period, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins (PPG), Andrew Mangiapane, and Zach Hyman would score to give the Oilers the commanding 3-0 lead. In the second period, Hyman would net his second of the game to grow the Oilers lead to 4. then in the third period, Vasily Podkolzin would score to give the Oilers the 5-0 victory over the Blues. Connor Ingram would stop all 27 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Oilers.
