- Johnston would be fined $2,864.58 for roughing Seattle Kraken forward Tye Kartye on Monday, December 22nd.
- The fine is the maximum allowed per the CBA.

Pittsburgh Penguins v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 4p ET
- In a rare afternoon game on a Tuesday, the Toronto Maple Leafs would play host to the Pittsburgh Penguins, and in the first period, William Nylander would open the scoring for the Leafs, but Bryan Rust would score to tie the game at one for the Penguins. However, Matias Maccelli would score to give the Leafs the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Steven Lorents would score to grow the Leafs lead to two, but Rutger McGroarty would score to get the Penguins back within one. Then in the third period, Anthony Mantha would score to tie the game at three for the Penguins, but Max Domi would score and Bobby McMann and Nylander would both score empty netters to give the Maple Leafs the 6-3 victory over the Penguins.
Dallas Stars v. Detroit Red Wings – 630p ET
- In Detroit, the Red Wings would play host to the Dallas Stars, and in the first period, James van Reimsdyk would score to give the Wings the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Roope Hintz would score on the powerplay and Jamie Benn would score to give the Stars the 2-1 lead. Then in the third period, Emmitt Finnie would score on the powerplay to tie the game at two for the Wings, but Wyatt Johnston’s powerplay tally for his 20th of the season would reclaim the lead for the Stars. However, Dylan Larkin would score later in the period while on the powerplay to tie the game at three for the Wings to force overtime. In the extra frame, Larkin would net his second of the game for his 20th of the season to give the Red Wings the 4-3 overtime victory over the Stars.
New York Rangers v. Washington Capitals – 7p ET
- In Washington, the New York Rangers would come to town to battle the Capitals in a Metropolitan Division matchup, and in the first period, Taylor Raddysh would score against his former team to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead. In the second period, John Carlson and Dylan Strome (PPG) would score for the Capitals to take the 2-1 lead, but Will Cuylle would score on the powerplay to tie the game at two for the Rangers. However, Aliaksei Protas would score for the Capitals to take the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period, Raddysh would net his second of the game, Alexis Lafreniere would score, Vincent Trocheck would net a pair of goals, and Artemi Panarin would score an empty netter to give the Rangers the 7-3 victory over the Capitals.
Montreal Canadiens v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
- In Boston, the Bruins would play host to the Montreal Canadiens for an Original Six matchup, and in the first period, Sammy Blais would score to give the Canadiens the 1-0 lead, but goals from Marat Khusnutdinov and Alex Steeves (PPG) would give the Bruins the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Ivan Demidov would score to tie the game at two for the Canadiens. Then in the third period, Zachary Bolduc, Cole Caufield (PPG), Nick Suzuki (PPG), and Juraj Slafkovsky would all score to give the Canadiens the 6-2 victory over the Bruins.
Buffalo Sabres v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
- In Ottawa, the Senators would play host to the red hot Buffalo Sabres, and in the first period, Bowen Byram would score to give the Sabres the 1-0 lead, but Ridley Greig would score to tie the game at one for the Senators. In the second period, both teams would trade goals again as Noah Ostlund would score for the Sabres and Tim Stutzle would strike on the powerplay for the Senators for the 2-2 tie. Then after a scoreless third period, Byram would net his second of the game to give the Sabres the 3-2 overtime victory over the Senators.
New Jersey Devils v. New York Islanders – 7p ET
- On Long Island, the New York Islanders would play host to their Metro Division rival New Jersey Devils, and in the first period, Brett Pesce would net his first of the season to give the Devils the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Simon Holmstrom would score to tie the game at one for the Islanders. Then in the third period, Adam Pelech would score to give the Islanders the 2-1 victory over the Devils.
Florida Panthers v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET
- In Carolina, the Florida Panthers would come to town to battle the Hurricanes, and in the first period, Eric Robinson would score to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Andrei Svechnikov would score to grow the Hurricanes lead to two. Then in the third period, Niko Mikkola, Luke Kunin, Anton Lundell, Sam Bennett, and Seth Jones (PPG) would score score for the Panthers to defeat the Hurricanes 5-2.
Ottawa Charge v. Toronto Sceptres – 7p ET (PWHL)
- In Toronto, the Sceptres would play host to the Ottawa Charge for some PWHL action, and in the first period, Maggie Connors and Daryl Watts would score to give the Sceptres the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Ella Shelton would score to grow the Sceptres lead to three, but goals from Rebecca Leslie and Gabbie Hughes (PPG) would get the Charge on the board and back within one. Then in the third period, Brooke Hobson would score her first goal of the season to tie the game at three for the Charge to force overtime. In the extra frame, Leslie would net her second of the game while on the powerplay to complete the comeback and give the Charge the 4-3 overtime victory over the Sceptres.
Nashville Predators v. Minnesota Wild – 8p ET
- In Minnesota, the Wild would play host to the Nashville Predators, and in the first period, Brock Faber would open the scoring for the Wild, but powerplay goals from Ryan O’Reilly and Roman Josi would give the Predators the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Joel Eriksson Ek would score to tie the game at two for the Wild. Then after a scoreless third period, Steven Stamkos would score to give the Predators the 3-2 overtime victory over the Wild.
