News
- The NHL announced that the 2026 Heritage Classic will take place at Princess Anne Stadium in Winnipeg.
- The contest will take place on October 25 featuring the Winnipeg Jets facing off against the Montréal Canadiens.
- This will be Winnipeg’s third outdoor game, and first since 2019, and Montréal’s fifth outdoor game since 2017.

Colorado Avalanche v. New York Rangers – 1230p ET
- In a matinee on Broadway, the Rangers hosted the Avalanche and with no goals scored in the first, Parker Kelly’s sixth of the year put Colorado up 1-0. In the third, Conor Sheary scored his first of the year to put the Rangers on the board but then Nathan MacKinnon netted his 23rd to put Colorado back in the lead. Then, Artemi Panarin netted his 10th to tie the game for the Blueshirts. In the overtime session, Nathan MacKinnon scored the game winner as the Avalanche got the 3-2 win over the Rangers.
New York Sirens v. Vancouver Goldeneyes – 3p ET (PWHL)
- In the PWHL’s lone contest of the day, the Vancouver Goldeneyes hosted the New York Sirens to Western Canada for the first time ever. In the first period, Abby Boreen scored her second goal of the year to put Vancouver up 1-0 and tehn Ashton Bell netted her first goal on the year to give the Goldeneyes the 2-0 lead. Then, Jenn Gardiner also went on to nab her first goal of the year as Vancouver went up 3-0. Following the scoreless second, Abby Boreen sealed the game with her second of the afternoon as the Goldeneyes quieted the Sirens with the 4-0 shutout.
Columbus Blue Jackets v. Florida Panthers – 330p ET
- In South Florida, the Panthers faced off against the Blue Jackets in an afternoon tilt. In the first, Columbus took the 1-0 lead on the power play when Damon Severson scored his second but then Florida got on the board when Evan Rodrigues netted his eighth of the year. In the second, Columbus re-took the lead when Dmitri Voronkov netted his 10th and then Miles Wood got his eighth as the Blue Jackets took the two goal lead. Then, Kirill Marchenko got his 10th to put Columbus up three but then Carter Verhaeghe netted a pair of goals, the second being on the Panthers power play, to bring Florida within a goal. Then, Seth Jones scored his fourth of the year on the power play to bring Florida even with Columbus but then Cole Sillinger netted his third to put the Blue Jackets back in front. In the third, Isac Lundeström scored his first to put Columbus up two once more but then Brad Marchand scored his 16th to bring Florida within a goal. Then, Anton Lundell netted his seventh as this would be a tie game once more. Then, in overtime Sam Bennett netted his seventh as the Panthers beat the Blue Jackets 7-6.
New Jersey Devils v. Boston Bruins – 7p ET
- In Beantown, the Bruins welcomed the Devils back to Boston and in the first Fraser Minten scored his fourth to put the B’s up 1-0 but then Timo Meier netted his 11th to tie the game. In the second, Morgan Geekie got his 22nd to put Boston up 2-1. In the third, Casey Mittlestadt netted his sixth to give the B’s the 3-1 lead and then Andrew Peeke netted his first on the empty net to lift the Bruins past the Devils 4-1.
Montreal Canadiens v. Toronto Maple Leafs – 7p ET
- In an Original Six match-up in Toronto, the Maple Leafs and Canadiens continued their long-storied rivalry. After a scoreless first, Cole Caufield scored his 15th on the Canadiens power play to give Montréal the 1-0 lead. In the third, Scott Laughton scored a shorthanded goal to tie the game for Toronto. Following the scoreless overtime, the game moved to the shootout when Alexandre Texier scored the eventual game winner as the Canadiens down the Maple Leafs 2-1.
St. Louis Blues v. Ottawa Senators – 7p ET
- In Ottawa, the Blues and Senators faced off and after a scoreless first, Jake Neighbours scored his seventh to put St. Louis up 1-0. In the third, Jake Neighbours scored his second to put St. Louis up 2-0 but then Fabian Zetterlund netted his sixth on the Ottawa power play but the Blues held on to get the 2-1 win over the Senators.
New York Islanders v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET
- In Tampa, the Lightning hosted the Islanders and after scoreless first and second periods, Calum Ritichie scored his third on the New York power play to take the 1-0 lead and then Casey Cizikas scored an empty net goal as the Islanders shutout the Lightning 2-0.
Nashville Predators v. Carolina Hurricanes – 7p ET
- In Raleigh, the Hurricanes hosted the Predators and in the first Carolina took the 1-0 lead with Taylor Hall’s sixth on the power play and then Nikolaj Ehlers got his sixth on the power play as well as the Hurricanes took the 2-0 lead. Then, William Carrier struck with his second as Carolina went up 3-0. In the second, Jackson Blake scored his seventh as the Canes went up 4-0. In the third, Sebastian Aho netted his ninth as Carolina jumped out the 5-0 lead and then Nashville would finally get on the board with a power play goal from Michael Bunting, his seventh goal of the year, but then Jackson Blake scored his second of the night to give Carolina the five goal lead back. Matthew Wood then scored his eighth to cut the Carolina lead to four and then Filip Forsberg scored his 10th but the Hurricanes stood pat to down the Predators 6-3.
Utah Mammoth v. Calgary Flames – 7p ET
- In Calgary, the Flames hosted their fellow division foe Mammoth at the Saddledome and in the first Calgary took the 1-0 lead when Yegor Sharangovich netted his fourth. After a scoreless second, Connor Zary scored his fourth with an empty netter as the Flames shutout the Mammoth 2-0.
