News
- The New York Islanders announced that defenseman Alexander Romanov will be placed on IR.
- Romanov will have shoulder surgery and miss 5-6 months.
- The NHL Department of Player Safety announced that Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen has been suspended.
- Rantanen has been suspended one game, and is an automatic suspension per Rule 23.6, Physical Infractions Category.
- Any player who incurs a total of two (2) game misconduct penatlies in the Physical Infractions Category, before playing in 41 consecutive regular season games without such penalty, shall be suspended automatically for the next NHL game of his team.
- Rantanen has been suspended one game, and is an automatic suspension per Rule 23.6, Physical Infractions Category.
- Alexandre Texier became an unrestricted free agent after clearing unconditional waivers and having his contract terminated by the St. Louis Blues.
- Texier would then sign a one year deal with the Montreal Canadiens.

Montreal Victoire v. Boston Fleet – 1p ET (PWHL)
- In Boston, the Fleet would open their 2025-26 season with a visit from the Montreal Victoire, and in the first period, Susanna Tapani would open the scoring for the Fleet to take the 1-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Megan Keller would score her first of the season to give the Fleet the 2-0 victory over the Victoire. Aerin Frankel would stop all 25 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Fleet.
Carolina Hurricanes v. Buffalo Sabres – 1p ET
- In Buffalo, the Carolina Hurricanes would come to town to face off with the Sabres, and in the first period, Alex Tuch would open the scoring with a powerplay goal for the Sabres to take the 1-0 lead, but Shayne Gostisbehere would score on the powerplay to tie the game at one for the Hurricanes. In the second period, Jack Quinn and Beck Malenstyn would score to give the Sabres the 3-1 lead. Then in the third period, Tage Thompson would get the empty netter to give the Sabres the 4-1 victory over the Hurricanes.
Minnesota Wild v. Winnipeg Jets – 4p ET
- In Winnipeg, the Jets would play host to the Minnesota Wild, and after a scoreless first period, Danila Yurov and Brock Faber (SHG) would score to give the Wild the 2-0 lead. Then after a scoreless second period, Kirill Kaprizov would score to give the wild the 3-0 victory over the Jets. Jesper Wallstedt would make 32 saves to earn the shutout for the Wild.
Seattle Kraken v. New York Islanders – 5p ET
- On Long Island, the Seattle Kraken would visit the Islanders for an early evening matinee, and after a scoreless 65 minutes of hockey, it would be Kyle Palmieri with the shootout winner to give the Islanders the 1-0 victory over the Kraken. David Rittich would make 19 saves for the Islanders and Joey Daccord would make 35 saves for the Kraken to both earn the shutout for their teams.
Colorado Avalanche v. Chicago Blackhawks – 7p ET
- In Chicago, the Blackhawks would play host to the Colorado Avalanche, and after a scoreless first period, Cale Makar would score to give the Avalanche the 1-0 lead. Then it would be a scoreless third period as the Avalanche would go on to defeat the Blackhawks 1-0. Scott Wedgewood would make 22 saves to earn the shutout for the Avalanche.
Boston Bruins v. San Jose Sharks – 8p ET
- In San Jose, the Sharks would play host to the Boston Bruins, and in the first period, Shakir Mukhamadullin would score his first of the season to give the Sharks the 1-0 lead. In the second period, Macklin Celebrini would score on the powerplay to give the Sharks the 2-0 lead. Then in the third period, Morgan Geekie would score his 17th of the season to get the Bruins on the board and back within one, but Collin Graf would score to give the Sharks the 3-1 victory over the Bruins.
