News

  • The Chicago Blackhawks unveiled their new alternate jersey for their Centennial season.
    • The Blackhawks brought back their original alternate jersey that originally debuted in 1996-97 season and was worn through the 2008-09 season.
    • The Blackhawks will don these alternate jerseys for seven total games during the 2025-26 campaign, and will make their debut on Black Friday.

  • The NHL announced that they have fined Dallas Stars forward Mikko Rantanen.
    • Rantanen was fined $2,000 as supplementary discipline under NHL Rule 64 (Diving/Embellishment).
    • Rantanen was issued a Warning following an incident flagged by NHL Hockey Operations during NHL Game No. 68 vs. Vancouver on Oct. 16. His second Citation, which triggered the $2,000 fine, was issued for an incident at 1:09 of the third period during NHL Game No. 258 at Ottawa on Nov. 11.

Jersey Tracking and Mini Recaps

Chicago Blackhawks v. Buffalo Sabres – 7p ET

  • In Buffalo, the Sabres would play host to the Chicago Blackhawks, and in the first period, Josh Doan, Jason Zucker, Bowen Byram (PPG) and would score to give the Sabres the 3-0 lead, but Tyler Bertuzzi would score late for the Blackhawks to get on the board and back within two. In the second period, Ryan McLeod and Mattias Samuelsson would score to give the Sabres the 5-1 lead, but Alex Vlasic would score to get the Blackhawks on the board. However, Doan would score his second of the game to give the Sabres the 6-2 lead. Then in the third period, Bertuzzi would score on the powerplay for his second of the game to get the Blackhawks back within three, but goals from Tage Thompson, Jack Quinn, and Jacob Bryson would give the Sabres the dominate 9-3 victory over the Blackhawks.

Toronto Sceptres v. Minnesota Frost – 7p ET (PWHL)

  • In Minnesota, the 2025-26 PWHL season would kick off with the Frost hosting the Toronto Sceptres, and after raising their second Walter Cup banner, Kendall Coyne Schofield would score to give the Frost the 1-0 lead, but Ella Shelton would score her first as a Sceptre to tie the game at one. Then after a scoreless second, Kiara Zanon would score her first career PWHL goal to give the Sceptres the 2-1 victory over the Frost.

Minnesota Wild v. Pittsburgh Penguins – 7p ET

  • In Pittsburgh, the Minnesota Wild would go on the road to faceoff with the Penguins, and in the first period, Matt Boldy, Joel Ericksson Ek (PPG), and Marcus Johansson would score to give the Wild the 3-0 lead. In the second period, Kirill Kaprizov would score and Boldy would net his second of the game to grow the Wild’s lead to five. After a scoreless third period, the Wild would defeat the Penguins 5-0. Filip Gustavsson would stop all 19 shots faced to earn the shutout for the Wild.

Carolina Hurricanes v. Winnipeg Jets – 8p ET

  • In Winnipeg, Nikolaj Ehlers would make his return with the Carolina Hurricanes as they face his former team in the Jets, and in the first period Jordan Staal would score to give the Hurricanes the 1-0 lead, but goals from Josh Morrissey and Gabriel Vilardi (PPG) would give the Jets the 2-1 lead. In the second period, Staal would net his second of the game and Seth Jarvis would score shorthanded to give the Hurricanes the 3-2 lead. Then in the third period, Andrei Svechnikov would score on the powerplay to grow the Hurricanes lead to two, but Vilardi’s second of the game to get the Jets back within one. However, the Hurricanes would hold the Jets at bay for the 4-3 victory.
