New York Rangers v. Tampa Bay Lightning – 7p ET
- In Tampa, the Lightning hosted the Rangers and in the first New York got on the board with a power play goal from Will Cuylle, his fifth and then the lead grew to 2-0 with J.T. Miller’s fourth of the season. Tampa Bay then got on the board when Scott Sabourin got his first of the year but then the Blueshirts re-took the two goal lead with Alexis Lafrenière’s fourth of the year. The Lightning then made it a one goal game once more when Zemgus Girgensons got his third of the year but Will Borgen put the Rangers back up two. Then, Jake Guentzel scored a shorthanded goal to bring the Bolts back within a goal once more. In the second, Vincent Trocheck’s first of the year would lift New York back up a pair. In the third, Vincent Trocheck scored his second of the night as the Blueshirts would go up three and then Will Cuylle’s second of the night, this time on an empty net, gave the Rangers the 7-3 win over the Lightning.
Edmonton Oilers v. Philadelphia Flyers – 730p ET
- In Philadelphia, the Flyers hosted the Oilers for the lone time on the season and in the first Edmonton opened the scoring when Evan Bouchard scored his third. In the second, Philadelphia tied the contest with a power play goal from Matvei Michkov, his fourth goal on the year. Following a scoreless third, the game moved to overtime where Jack Roslovic scored the game winner and gave the Oilers the 2-1 win over the Flyers.
