- The Pittsburgh Penguins announced that forward Filip Hallander has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his leg and will miss a minimum of three months.
- Hallander will rehab in Pittsburgh with the Penguins medical team and UPMC staff.
- The Buffalo Sabres announced that defenseman Rasmus Dahlin will be taking a temporary leave of absence from the team.
- Dahlin will be heading back to Sweden to tend to a personal matter.

New York Rangers v. Detroit Red Wings – 7p ET
- In Detroit, the Red Wings honor their Dynasty Era as they host the New York Rangers, and in the first period, Will Cuylle would score on the powerplay to give the Rangers the 1-0 lead, but J.T. Compher would score to tie the game at one for the Wings. In the second period, Noah Laba would score to retake the lead for the Rangers. Then in the third period, Artemi Panarin and Alexis Lafreniere would score to give the Rangers the 4-1 victory over the Red Wings.
Minnesota Wild v. New York Islanders – 7p ET
- On Long Island, the Minnesota Wild would come to town to battle the New York Islanders, and in the first period, Vinnie Hinostroza and Danila Yurov would score to give the Wild the 2-0 lead. In the second period, Emil Heineman would score for the Islanders to get back within one, but goals from Brock Faber and Marco Rossi would give the Wild the 4-1 lead. However, late in the second period, Jean-Gabriel Pageau would score to get the Islanders back within two. Then in the third period, Kirill Kaprizov would score to give the Wild the 5-2 victory over the Islanders.
